UNITAB Sports mistake AND....

Unitab alledgedly took over the SA TAB franchise on a proviso there would be no SA Internet Bookie liscenses handed out.
That dracoinain ruling has allowed Unitab to monopolise Internet betting in SA

This is what happened to me this morning
8-05 am
UNITAB ...EG $1-90 to win the 2nd Test
BETFAIR ..EG $1-70 to lay to win the 2nd Test
Nice arb, cant lose if I spead my $$$ properly

I try and place a bet on the Internet to test the water, perhaps I can get a bet on between the days play
This is the message :
Federal legislation prohibits this bet from being placed on the Internet after play has started
To place a bet please phone 131935 for Telebet Sportsbet

So I ring up 131935
Then get this message
Hours of opeartion are etc etc
Opening hours may vary depending on sporting schedules
etc etc
The conclusion of my call has Unitab hanging up on me !

Bloody marvellous
Cant get a bet on the net
Cant get a bet on the phone
Cant even talk to a human being

IF Unitab cant service me in this instance, they should not be displaying odds on thier site ???
AND when will the legislation go thru for punters to bet on live sporting events in Australia ?

As moronic as it is I can bet with a MALtese based bookie live on Domestic and International cricket played in Australia
But cant bet live on the net with Australian Bookmakers
In fact we can all open accounts and bet offshore on live cricket in several parts of the world

The $1-90 was there until about 8-20 this morning
It was then changed on the site to $1-65
Proves that someone was in the office

They also have fixed odds on more races than most or all Bookies
They have the best odds, occasionally
And they bet on SANFL footy

Unitab infuraite me at times, but they have enough uniqueness about them to bet with them
But without any doubt they are the most inferior TAB in Australia

its almost as if you have a unitab account just to have a small amount in there in case of an error

UniTab (Tattsbet) i have noticed overall provide by far and away the BEST fixed odds markets on Galllops, Trots & Dogs and havent had any real trouble getting bets on and on several occasions, the odds have actualy increased as i've been putting my bet on.

there is one thing that unitab has over some corporates & that is they allow you to get your bets on, i haven't ever been knocked back, had the bet cut in half or been banned by them.....have any of you guys ever been knocked back by unitab when having a bet ?

Have you ever tried getting a live sports bet on Unitab b4 10-00 in the morning ?
Unitab will never knock your bet back, they dont even have staff to take a bet


Unitab should not knock back anyones sports bets
If I was managing Unitab I would hold everyones bets and then lay off at better odds elsewhere
They bet the worst odds most sports most of the time
They occasionally bet the best odds, and some of those times if they make mistakes

Unitab cater for mainly braindead punters who continue to take the worst odds
Most of those are the pub drinkers and pensioners that bet with them
Anyone else who is not a pub drinker or pensioner needs to have thier head read if they are betting sports with them exclusively

In a course of a year it would cost me thousands if I bet exclusively with them [as I used to]

As for the question have they knocked back a sports bet of mine
NO they have not, give credit where its due, but then again Im not in the habit of taking under the odds

Unitab is worst odds but convenient to the average mug punter. Bit like buying from a deli, worst price but close/convenient.

To be honest, NO, i've had very little to do with Betfair, but from what i've seen, Tattsbet compares more than favourably with other fixed odds providers.

On a seperate issue with Betfair, I understand that it's basically Punters matching other punters bets.
In that case, it seems strange to me that i've NEVER heard a punter say a bad thing about Betfair and even stranger is that i've NEVER heard a punter say that they LOSE by betting with Betfair.

Anyway, congratulations to ALL those punters out there making a living off Betfair, seriously well done.

Yes, it could be useful for me but as most of my betting isn't straight win & place betting, i just havent bothered with it.

Better than corporates that I can believe, becuase the corporates are sharper with their prices Tatts are slower on the uptake which can create opportunities.

Betfair is a bit different.

I will give TAB fixed price one thing..... They are generally better than the other corporates who are seriously psss weak.
TAB fixed price are a lot better also than bookies (who are also pss weak) on course I have found.
But to say thay are better than betfair is not right generally as if you are smart with betfair you can get some big overs late in betting.

UNITAB have never knocked back a bet of mine [BUT dont win enough of them to be banned etc]
UNITAB has the best range of fixed win or place odds of all the corporate bookies[and bet more meetings from what Ive seen]
I have been restricted and had rejected bets by Corp bookies, but never banned YET
UNITAB fixed odds are good for races/dogs and from what ive seen bet enough of the best odds to bet with them

Very rarely are they the best, unless they make the odd mistake
Hours of service are diabolical for live punting

BETFAIR
All I can say is join the revolution, no serious punter can not have BF as an option account
The overs on BF are staggering at times
Ive seen UNITAB pay $1-10 on trots certs that been $1-30 + on BF on so many occasions
If you are a favourites punter BF is the very best
