I have been informed that Graham Manou could not even stand up on day 4
If a player cannot stand up, walk, how can he be expected to make his way out to the centre and bat

I know a few of youse are not happy that the man perhaps bats too high at times
That some are understandably frustrated with the lack of success the SA team has had
That some are Luddenham fans
But please do not allow any of the past as the focus on why he didnt bat

Had Adam gilCHRIST have not batted in similar circumstances, Im positively sure he would have copped far less if any flack than Graham has

And another thing, some of us may have played with busted toes or whatever, but how many of us have ever faced bowlers that are bowling 130km + at you
Imagine the thought process that ''what If i get hit there by a bowler""

No, Graham is not soft, weak, he is a man in great pain, who cant even stand up
He needs to get of his feet, and some of youse need to get off his back

NOT HAPPY JAN, do any of you p..s weak posters have any idea what it is to face up to someone bowling 140, do you have any idea how courageous it is to keep up to the stumps to blokes bowling 130+, do any of you know how courageous it is to, every year, ride a pushbike a 1,000 km to raise money for a charity, a la what Manou does every year, I think most of you would whinge about having to walk to the toilet when you are posting. Question his ability but for f..k sake, unless you have done any of the above, and I am pretty sure none of you have, then do not question his courage. He has achieved more in his life than you can dream of and all this with a blooody hole in his heart.

Put an end to all this crap.

I don't think anyone should be questioning his courage... I don't think he should be playing, despite a couple of good knocks this year... But no worry about his courage...

BF strikes again with his love child LOL....

WHAT!!! Have a listen! Of course we will question his courage.. dont try talking up him keeping up to the stumps as courage coz its his job, its wat he does, its wat all GOOD keepers do, doesnt make him COURAGEOUS! Sure we may not have done what he has, but we arent getting paid decent $$ to do this as a career like he is either.

No one questions his ability because he is easily the best keeper in the state.

Plenty of people have been questioning his ability off late by making stupid suggestions like he shouldn't be in the team, has no guts etc, etc... and continually jumping on manou when something goes wrong for the team. They then fail to give credit where credit is due and keep offering up a dud replacement in ludeman because they think someone has told them that he is good. Very tiresome.

Yeah, I think it's pretty low to question a man's courage. People used to poke fun at the courage of the Pommy batsmen back in 1974-75 facing up to Jeff Thomson. Sure, one or two backed away on occasion, and that never looks good, but I'm willing to bet most people would have done that at times. Thommo was lethal. The thing to remember is at least those guys were out there facing the music. I'll question a player's ability, or his committment, but never his courage.

Lillee wasn't exactly a pie chucker either. This is why I loved Viv Richards who refused to don helmets when facing these guys when they came into vogue. He also faced West Indian bowlers in the Red Stripe Cup and that is also nation against nation with plenty of pride and bragging rights on the line.

Viv Richards seemed to have the hardest head of all time. I remember once he copped one flush on the scone and didn't even flinch. He just took his cap off, gave it a rub and got on with it. Having copped a couple myself over the years, I was amazed by Richards' reaction.
