Possibly, but not when Diouff was signed.
he was brilliant during the Houllier era.
Maybe he just spotted an overpaid ordinary individual and ignored him.
I'd say Carra has more mates than El Hadj

Nice guy, but not a manager for a club wanting to reach big heights.
Hired by the former owners to "tow the company line", it's a pity but I don't think he was ever going to be long term once the sale of the club happened.
