Geez the relegation scrap is interesting every year, but even moreso this season than any other recently that I can recall.

I'd say that from Stoke down you're still in the battle so that includes 13 clubs .. I think Johnny produced a stat last year on how regularly the bottom placed club at Christmas ends up getting the chop, but with those 13 clubs being separated by only 9 points it's anyone's guess as to who will make the drop.

At the start of the season i had the 3 W's going down.
Wolves, west ham and wigan. Think wolves are definates now and possibly wigan. Wouldnt be surprised if birmingham or fulham went down. West ham not out of trouble yet

United up 1-0 at the half, great finish by hernandez. Dont know why fergie doesnt start him more often.

Great finish from nani
United win 2-1
Makes tomorrow a crunch game. 5 points ahead of arsenal and 3 ahead of the scum with a game in hand of city. We need a thuggish 0-0 draw :D
But i feel arsenal will smack them.
Good wins for 2 of the bottom 3 aswell. Birmingham scoring a last minute winner at blackpool and fulham smacking west brom 3-0. Lifts both out of relegation zone.

Unfortunately for Stoke they scored their all too predictable equaliser early enough for United to come back and get a winner. With half our first team missing I certainly didnt expect Utd to thump stoke but its getting pretty tiresome of Utd to just take the foot off after going 1-0 up.

2 sublime finishes tho. And in repsect to Hernandez Jim i think Fergie is using him perfectly. I am not sure the little Mexican adds alot to the team at the moment other then his clinical finishing (which is a rather handy attribute to have). So i think the odd start plus numerous appearances from the subs bench is not a bad way to acclimatise to the Premier League in his first season without too much pressure. He will be a star and get numerous opportunities in years to come.

And now that is the last Prem game of the busy X-mas schedule out of the way hopefully we wont have to see Gibson start another game this season.

first goal by united was a fluke. Come on you cant say that was skill no way. If fabregas had have done that for Arsenal i wouldnt say it was skill. Pure fluke.

like i said in the previous page for this topic..

United have to play some big teams away from home yet, so to all the united fans that keep giving me hell (not on here away from here) we will see how good you really are in the coming weeks..

tottenham away
Arsenal away
Chelsea away and home
Man city home
Liverpool away(dont say its easy as its a derby and you lost there last year)

If you can come out of these games with no losses then i think the title is yours but just wait and see.

Watch the way he turns his body and angles his foot. He knew exactly what he was doing. If he tried it another 10 times he might not come close again but its the same with players trying 25 yard screamers - they probably miss 9 out of 10 but when they get one right no-one claims it was a fluke just good technique.

Its a 2 horse race between Arsenal and Utd IMHO. City have too tough schedule to catch Utd and they will bring in and lose other players during January. Its not the way you win titles.

Its a good point about the fixture list tho. Utd have 5 really tough games away over the second half of the year. However our home draw is pretty friendly - I know we still have City and Chelski to play at home but really Utd should be aiming to not drop a point at Old Trafford from here on in. If they can do that then i think we will be champions but there will be a few twists and turns before then.

Give United the title now, they are home and hosed .. Yes Im aware this post may be reproduced at seasons end if by some miracle they don't win it, but it won't happen, they are too good.

I think we can get at least a draw in all those away fixtures. If we do that and dont drop points at home we will be ok. Far from done deal. I think anything other than a win for city tomorrow will end their fight. European cup will have a lot to say in titke race. The longer arsenal are in it the more chance we have of winning the league. I can see arsenal fielding weaker teams before and after both barca legs so they could drop a few points, and united are usually poor the weekend after playing in europe. Way too long to go

Perhaps its just a different perspective you can get when your team isn't involved in the race, but I still stand by it being a done deal.

agreed with its still a long way to go.

But for your sake i hope u do get results out of the games i have mentioned because if you dont then fergie will need to take a long hard look at himself. Its all good winning and drawing but if there is a loss or 2 in the games i have mentioned then things can start going the wrong way it happens to all. Hey Arsenal could do this too and this is why i agree that its still a long way to go. Yes City will have a big test tomorrow morning at the emirates and if they lose then i think they have no hope. They to have some big games to play also to say it

tottenham away from home
Arsenal tomorrow away
Chelsea away
Man Utd away .so they can slip up alot too. And they struggled to win against blackpool last time out so who knows?

In Arsenals case the only big game away from home left is spurs at white heart lane, all the rest of the bigger games are at home -

Man city
Man Utd
Liverpool all home

United don't even know what a loss is.

Good win this morning, both were top notch goals, a slice of luck with Chicharito of course but Nani's was a belter.

Also CP stop trying to jinx us. ;)

good effort by the Brums to get a win at blackpool especially after getting hammered by arsenal at home

hopefully they can get a good result in the Cup tie this weekend but i reckon we will send out the second 11 as staying alive in the Premier League is what its all about

Maybe Sir ALex can come down with the flu for a few weeks and Hodgson leaves his Liverpool job to become caretaker at UTD.
