i actually think whatever the gambling business a person users, the main objective is to win, so if one users betfair & wins consistently & someone else will use a sportsbet, sportingbet & the like & win consistently, while others use any of the tabs & wins consistently who really cares what other people would think if you are winning using whichever form you desire & profit from......this preaching is way over the top because the bottom line is winning ;)

Comparing $1.70 Pre race to $5 in the run is ridiculous.

I for one like to study the form and make calculated betting decisions b4 the race and then during the race sit back and enjoy the spectacle of the race, NOT betting on the spur of the decisions in the run.
Any way, each to their own.

$2.00 with TabSportsbet
$1.80 with Tattsbet

I'm not going to say he can't win - but I don't think $2 is value.
I like Ohoka Nevada e/w at the $8.50 and the place even more @ $2.25.

They would be better off running 8 or 9 then letting some horses in...
Gee Whizz Fizz for one, it beat The Tribunal last start, who couldn't run a place @ Pirie in a low grade claimer yesterday

SCD, hope u grabbed the $2.60 the place (Tabsportsbet OR better on Betfair presumably) about Ohoka Nevada. ;)

And also must mention that Gee Whiz Fizz ran 4th which in hindsight probably justified it place in the field.
Probably horses like Renaissance Man shouldn't be running until it's trainer/driver can actually control it during a race.

Spot on JJ
You cant compare $1-70 with $5-00
One bet wins 70 cents, the other wins $4-00 per dollar

SMOKEN UP
You studied this race all week and was prepared for it
I know SFA about Victorian pacers, but even I knew this horse could sit wide and still win this race[and it ended up in front]
To get $5 in the run ends up being possibly one of the greatest overs EVER at GDP

WHERE TO BET
Your 100% right, each and every person has the right to bet whenever and wherever they want
But when it comes to win and place betting, anyone who does not have a Betfair account is missing out badly

QUESTION
IF a runner is $1-00 on Unitab with a minit to go
If its similar odds on the other TABS
What would you do if you get set odds of $2-20
?

VICTORIAN PACING CUP
Smoken Up is a star, good to see the great horse winning
Always good to see the best horse win any race
Is this right, the last time a SA horse won the race was in 1989 ?
That would have been Whirley Dream ?

Maybe we should have this race at Melton in future, that way the Victorians can save petrol money ....

Yep, just like last year when started $1.30 and sat wide , How much would your $5.00 in the run made for you then?
NOTHING - because it got beaten.

And so going on your theorey, maybe we shouldn't bet before the race but just wait to bet in the run and takethe better odds?

Im not going to force Betfair down anyones throats, we are just pointing out the odds differences to try to help you win more $ nothing else. $5 Smoken Up is just one example.

The last bet I had was about this
I obtained $2-16 + $2-20 a dog at Cannington dogs
This was the result as it won

$1-20 UNI
$1-50 SUPER
$1-70 $NSW
$2-20 BETFAIR
$0-00 TATTSBET

I placed $30 on this hound on betfair at $2-16 and $2-20
After commissions I won $33-76 on the dog
Here is what I would have won on the TABS [provding my $30 didnt shorten the dog]

+05 UNI
+15 SUPER
+21 NSW
+00 TATTSBET who were on strike for this meeting

And there was about 2k traded at the $2-16 on the favourite

To view the above have a look at the dogs thread and see how all this unfolded Pre -Race

IN THE RUN P/L SMOKEN UP 2010/2011
-$5 in 2010
+20 in 2011
+15 total profit
150 % over 2 years on a $5 investment

ok, mal i know you are very astute & very seldom lose, (i use betfair occaisionally) however there is also this argument that was put to me a while back, when you are betting/laying on betfair especially on dogs & trots you are betting against some of the best pro punters around (could name them but it is unfair to do so).......as i said earlier if a person is consistently winning on any of the agencies why would they change ?

Sorry, but I am
JJ and BAYMAN are mates of mine, and I gotta help out my mates

So particularly, everytime they boast about the Deli agencies, I will boast about the Supermarket agency

In time hopefully thru a saturation of facts and figures, they will realise that without BF they are not utilising thier punting dollars

Its accepted BF are around 20% better dividends, if you winning why wouldnt you want to win 20% more?

Also interesting to note over $4m was traded on the SA/VIC cricket game last night, less than $1m was traded before teh game commenced

Very simple answer
If you are consitently winning with the agencies, why not win MORE by having BF ?

IF BF bets the best odds MOST of the time why not win more
Its got nothing to do with betting against the pros, just take the best odds
If your gunna take $2 with the delis, why not take $2-20 with BF on a consistent basis

I don't see what the deal is with Vic's coming over if you get to see the good horses race around.
Would you rather SA harness fans didn't get to see multiple grand circuit winners going around and end up with basically a race full of glorified claimers just to let the locals have a chance?

I've never heard or seen the Vic's complain when Blacks a Fake, Mr Feelgood or Imthemightyquinn etc win the big races here, it's just good to see them race and to have the leading drivers / trainers in the country here, people get excited by it.

Ohoka Nevada - I got $2.30 a place, would have been nice to see Kerryn keep the front, but still a profit is always nice
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined
