why are portland favs for this div in 2011? or is it just that there are alot of thunder posters on this thread?

i dare say FLinders parks are the early favourite coming down from div 2 and apparently doing very well in the off season recruiting some big names, i would really like to see if anyone knows of there full list of recruits and how many points they would be on at this stage and also include there carry over points if they have any

Might have a handy B Grade side if all player rumours are correct

Golden Grove -- Believe 3 to Gaza, 1 to an ankle reco who won't play this year and some to TTG. Might be up against it.

Pooraka -- Not much change to last year, whether this will be good enough we'll see

Para Hills -- Only seen in trial games the last couple of seasons, but as i live very close and drive home at training time, i don't believe the 60 on the track bit.

Only 1 of those 3 is an A grader. Other 2 were B grade.
Who is the ankle reco ???
And who are the ones to TTG ??
Curious....

From what I had heard the 3 to Gaza were Boxer, Shepherd and Kundht? Aren't they all A graders? If I am incorrect who are the 2 B graders heading off. From your B grade GF side the only one that I thought might make it at Gaza would be number 6.

T.Shep has not missed a preseason training session yet FF. Jimmy K has also been out. The 2 b graders are Gentilcore and Boxer's brother who played C's thru to A's last year.
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

I think you will find he has a few mates that play baseball for grange who use SMOSHs oval and hes been trying to get down there for a beer with them, dont think its got anything to do with the footy club but could be wrong

I think Smosh did approach him towards the end of last season about a position there. They would have had to pay for his operation to be surgically removed from Hodges hip though.

i was told yesterday that the points rule for this year is going to be a shamble, by the sounds of what i have been told the league are going to be very leanient with the amounts of points teams can have this year, good for clubs like Flinders who have done a lot of recruiting. but IMO doesnt make for an even playing field for the teams that have recruited by the book.

From what i have gathered from a few Flinders people, They will be under their points regardless. Christie & O'Hara are the two notable recruits, but the rest are lesser known players who have played juniors at the club. Think the recruiting has been overhyped a little bit. Will have a reasonably strong side regardless, but certainly haven't recruited over the top.

Perhaps you are very well correct, but surely you must have some carry over points to include from last year from last year. Would dare say most if not all clubs would have at least 1 recruit from last year staying at the club at minimum. Be interesting to see what the league sends out re who has carry over points and how many they have.

Portland are favourites cause they have the best side by a mile according to a few coaches and opposition players you speak to

So the coaches that have said Portland have the best side could that be the b's and c grade plus the assistant coaches down at Portland :D
