and u wud replace them with who?

If wud means what I think it does:
Smith: Ferguson, Warner or Hodge.
Lee & Bollinger: Rimmington, Drew or Hogan.
Hastings: Christian.

I agree whole-heartedly! The selectors are out of their minds!
Its time to blood the youth and by that i dont mean 30 - 34 year olds as the Aussie selectors have generally done.
Out of the current one day WC squad i would make the following changes:

M Clarke out, C Fergusson in. (SA)
D Hussey out, M Marsh in. (WA)
J Hastings out, D Christian in. (SA)
D Bollinger out, J Pattinson in. (VIC)
N Hauritz out, X Dougherty or S Okeefe in. (TAS & NSW)

B Lee, B Haddin & S Smith are others in question possibly replaced by T Birt, M Cameron & U Khawaja. (TAS, NSW, NSW)

Is he really any better than Smith?

Funny thing is with all those changes, I don't see that much improvement.

Bloke who gets king hit and kicked in the head - 10 games plus 20 games suspended
Bloke who throws the first punch (king hit) - 6 games

WTF

PDCA are weak. Obviously more to the story than the hear-say going around, however how a bloke who gets king hit and kicked gets 10 weeks is questionable at best, while the instigator gets 6 weeks. Very interesting yet disappointing. Makes you wonder....standard of umpiring is average, and the league comp does nothing, now they are promoting violence on the cricket pitch. Just makes you shake your head.

obviously I am a tad closer to the situation than most
but no matter what nobody deserves that on a cricket pitch
all i can say to the hero who threw the punch and his mates who sank the boot in, is that they are extremely lucky no serious injury happened

U serious? Most are all far too old, at least they have youth on their side...
As for Smith, he is picked mainly as a batsman ATM. Why not play Okeefe instead who gives you an option of tight left arm orthodox and can bat just as well as Smith. JMO

There wouldn't be much improvement now.. but there would be in a couple of years when the younger guys come through I think.

Hodge is probably the best one day batsman that Australia have had in the last 2 years.
They should have had him in ages ago.
