Does anyone know if the Sean Obrien that works at 5aa is the sals nth champion? Last i heard he was at channel 9...

is he the old salis nth opening bowler? i remember him at 1 end and craig wilson at the other fair attack that was! i was a young lad then smithfield had col and vandongen, westies had north and drake fair to say opening the bat was'nt a lot of fun........

Did he take Gaza down from A1 to A2? With Johnny Athanasiou the last A grade coach at Gaza before they temporarily folded. Gaza were a powerhouse before that with Wickham in charge and blokes like Spina bros, Massey, Steve Sims, all playing for them through the late 80s.

Catchit it is the same Sean OBrien from Salisbury North. He is now the GM of 5AA, he was on the radio last night giving Cornesy a serve.

I was only talking to Anthony Heinrich another ex Salisbury Nth player last week about OB and his favourite saying when he got a wicket was "just like shelling peas"

Well there you go...yeah i heard him as well which prompted me to ask..he sounded abit nervous on the big stage

Quietest I have ever heard him, was a bit sheepish.

Interesting seeing Playford forfeit their A's and flogging Rosies in the B's, probably could've got away with it if they didn't drop Lubcke down there.

I think Scott must of scored more as Hillen only made 1.

Apparently they are allowed to play any of the blokes who werent suspended in the b grade.

Yeah bar20 i think you are right...chook spina was a good bowler with good heat on his day...a guy named blighty followed sean to gaza and charged in from about 30mtrs and bowled the quickest off spin i have seen..might of even got the association trophy...i think my last year there was when johny was skipper and andrew jarmen and darryl hart played a few games for us...never a dull moment on the field with jars there...

Whats happened to Aaron Bateson? Is he still playing for you guys?

He's been unavailable on Saturdays for a while now, we were hoping he was back the week before last but hasn't happened yet, he's been a huge loss for us, him Scotty are a great bowling partnership then to have Ledge and either Shano or Raed next up keeps the pressure on.
Bowling partnerships are more important than batting partnerships IMO, either way though, we've struggled on both accounts.

The old ledge has still got some good shape and not a bad effort ball either for a old timer..

ledge was quality when he was young. opened bowling with ob at penfield when i was there...awesome combo.
hope he and mosy can rip through pg early this week. huge game for us!
