Bullard has gone to Ipswich from Hull although not sure what the deal is. Bullard was on £50k per week at Hull and refused to go to Celtic or Rangers when they failed to meet his £70k per week demands. Hull didn't want to play him because of a clause that if he played more than "x" games his wages jumped by another £15k a week.

So how the he'll the Tractor Boys can afford him is beyond me.

Harry Redknapp confirms to Sky Sports News that Tottenham made a bid - that was accepted - for Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam late in the day, but that the deal fell through because "a couple of Blackpool shareholders" just failed to get the necessary signatures on the paperwork in time.

Why the hell do Spurs need him anyway? They need a striker not another midfielder. Spurs are muppets in this transfer stuff, they are just trying to buy as many players as they can.

whats the rules for Torres to play in CL?? He has already played in the Europa League so does that mean he cannot take part in Chelsea's CL?? or is he eligable??

Either Luiz or Torres can play CL but not both.

It's because they have both played in Europe this season and only 1 is allowed to play for a new club in European competition .

Stability is the key. Notice the top 2 didnt indulge.
I still think this is the worst united side in many years but fergie obviously is happy with his lot so i wont argue with the great man.

No point City buying anyone else, with the 25 man squad rule they'd have to offload someone and Cardiff can't afford anymore of their cast off's.
And United just haven't got any cash, as their interim payment is due to their bond holders.

i have never been a big fan of 'loan' deals. i dont believe in it. I would assume if i was out on loan then i would feel as a second thought to the club that i wanted to play for. Surely these players out on loan must think this.
We are told its due to development for these loan players but wouldnt developing be with the club who purchased you??

we want to buy you but you have to go play for someone else while the club has other players to fill your spot....

I don't see it that way:

Chelsea

- Abramovich has never hidden his desire to bring Torres to the Bridge
- Would realistically accept that the Premier League title is unlikely for them this season
- Thus leaving the Champions League as their best opportunity
- In the Abramovich era they have won the League multiple times, so I think they covet the CL more than any other

Liverpool

- Had arguably their most important player request to leave, so no point keeping him (he'd pretty much been carried for a season and a half anyway)
- Have possibly replaced him (Suarez), but even with Torres they knew they didn't have enough talent
- Hence the Carroll buy .. I think we all agree that he's over-priced (same sort of $$ Barca paid for Villa), but he's young (in keeping with the owners statement of intent from day dot) and improves the talent on the Liverpool list.
- The owners have sent a message that they are legitimate about improving our onfield group and by extension, hopefully performance.

I think both clubs have come out of this pretty well, Liverpool basically got Suarez and Carroll in a straight swap for Torres .. Chelsea picked up one of the best strikers in the world who isn't CL cup-tied.

Most are happy just to be playing 1st team football Bully. Remember these guys are footballers first, millionaires second.
Going on loan is far better than kicking your heels in the reserves or not getting a game at all.
It also gives you the opportunity of showing your stuff on the bigger stage.
