Wedding ceremony "planned" for a nice Park here in Lincoln, everything looking beautiful, with the reception at the Hilton... Just about as "swanky" as Pt Lincoln gets...

And this could be what actually happens...

However, if his cricket side make the Grand Final, the reception will be in the footy clubrooms next to the B Grade grand final which is being played the same day, where he'll either bowl his overs out straight, and come straight in to get married in his whites, or quickly get out of the suit after the service to "pad up."

Absolutely the funniest thing I have ever heard, and I have to book the clubrooms next week just in case...

And obviously if he wins, then a/ the team gatecrashes the reception, or b/ he never gets there

going by some of your posts lately mate you aint far off it ;)

I have a similar story, bloke in the cricket club was getting married 1 week and several guests in the team made themselves unavailable because of it. Funny thing was the game was done and dusted before the shin dig kicked off

Married at Melbourne Town Hall balcony.

Wedding song - Frantic Romantic by Kim Salmon ( a very live ;) version)

Reception at the Hi Fi Bar across the road from the Town Hall.

Entertainment was Kim Salmon playing solo, A lesbian mate doing a "drag" Tom Jones act  , and a couple of comedian mates doing routines. People said it was the coolest wedding they'd ever been to.

Sorry gang, I’ve got no idea where the so called ceremony took place. The bride’s family
had me bound, gagged and blindfolded before throwing me in the back of their truck.
The drive went on forever, but my guess is somewhere on the Nullabor.
First I was hitched to a post, then I was hitched to Fort Battle-Axe. All I remember
is the gun at my head and lots of crying. She had the gun, I was crying.

It’s the music that’s a clue to the location. They must have driven through Port Augusta
coz I could hear the radio in the cabin and some clown on 5AU talking about playing
Alice Cooper all weekend. It’s pretty hard to forget your wedding night with such poignant
and romantic tunes going around and around in your head. I had to concentrate
on the songs so I wouldn’t vomit.

Those three beautiful ballads that will always bring back the magic memories of innocence lost :
‘Sick Things’, ‘I Love The Dead’ and of course, ‘Welcome To My Nightmare’. Nice work Alice.
Ahhh truly unforgettable, no matter how hard I try. Even to this day, when Fort Battle-Axe
insists on having her wretched way, I still wish I had that blindfold. And the gun !

Back in '95, when I was working in a London pub, a couple of regulars were headed to Gawler and when they found out I was from Adelaide said we should catch up for a drink if I was home by then.

Thought nothing of it but then a few months later when I was back home they rang up and organised some drinks in Gawler.

No worries, I said, and a few days later I rock up to the chick's sister's place in Gawler in jeans, t-shirt and Puma Clyde sneakers with bomber laces.

He answered the door in a tux, which I thought was a bit overdressed for the pub.

I thought wrong. They were getting married. And didn't mention it to me during our brief phone chat.

Felt like a complete idiot as I joined the other guests in the backyard for the ceremony where my fears were quickly allayed.

If anything, I was overdressed...

Married at "Downtown" in Hindley Street, with finger food (dial-a-pizza) delivered for the reception.

Wedding Song was a cracker - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggWZUm1ETNo - needless to say the roller skates everyone was wearing made the 'dance' moment a bit of a challenge.

The Honeymoon was in keeping with the song - a trip to Quorn in the Sandman.

We've aged a bit these days, but I still love this photo.
