"A repulsive, stupid Godwin":

Following the news that a council in the UK is considering reusing energy from a crematorium to heat a public swimming pool, a contemptible columnist in Southbank tries to draw an equivalence between those attempting to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases and – seriously, and I almost cannot believe he wrote this – the Nazis’ bloody Holocaust.

Save the planet! Burn people for heat

The obvious analogy is to people who followed another creed that appealed to their totalitarian instincts:

No! No it isn’t! Nobody is being deliberately murdered here! That analogy is not in any way obvious!

Reading these pages have made me really sad at the sheer ignorance that exists out there as demonstrated by the unintelligible drivel of the pathetically irrational left wing looney Labour/Green coalition who have insulted every free thinking capitalist. The reality is Andrew Bolt is a brilliant journalist. Some of the stuff he has written about the role of children, animals and pets in our lives is really moving. He's a clever writer. Why does anyone want to take the piss on this forum. Surely you lefties should start your own forum and get in there all together and just stroke yourselves into waves of orgasmic rantings.

Odd specimens aren't they? Yes, Bolt is a far-right nutter and I still believe the only reason he has a job is the outrage he stirs up in the saner members of society. He's nothing but a shock jock in print and personally I don't think he would really be as extreme as he tries to make out. A lot of his stuff does seem like it's really about geeing up his zombies and trying his hardest to outrage those dreaded "Leftists".

I don't read his articles, just this thread. What has he written about the role of children?

If it's anything more than growing up to be adults, I'd love to have a chat with him...

Hey Darth remember the last time you said the Greens were looney it turned out to be 100% unsubstantiated rubbish.

I'm surprised that you haven't turned your focus a little to the right to find out who Psyber thinks is insane.

So getting back onto topic here guys- let's take politics out of the equation.

Anyone who has read Andrew Bolt's work must cede that he is far from one-dimensional.
He has plenty to say about politics, but love or loathe him you can't deny he is a clever, articulate journalist.

I challenge his critics who declare he is not a writer but a right-wing puppet to read these two stories, just a small example of his work, and then tell me he can't write.

fish was entirely on topic, answering your earlier post (Feb 3).

Bolt is a right-wing puppet with no political credibility.

Credibility has nothing to do with the types of articles you've highlighted, it's about whether the journalist has a reputation as being credible over his career, rather than just the odd piece.

He appeals only to his own constituency.

Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young quote - "In Christmas Island you have a very prison like environment. It’s a maximum security prison. Ninety per cent of it is inflammable, meaning all concrete and steel."
Fish, this is the same twit who brought her baby to the Senate and was rightfully ejected for her arrogance. She should be committed for the total lack of common sense endemic to the terminally stupid. Proof that the Greens understanding of English is as tenuous as their grasp of physics. And they are running the bloody Labour Party!

I realise "Insiders" on the ABC might not have the most lively audience, but to accuse them of being dead seems extreme.

"The Oz, Bolta and a climate of denial":

A Pure Poison reader writes:

Bolt and The Australian – a shocking abuse of science in the services of climate denial, even though the scientists involved explain why their work should not be abused in that way.

Here’s how it works.

The Australian this morning runs a “Cut and Paste” run a climate denial segment (even though we know of that The Oz is not a denialist organ because Mr Mitchell has told us so)

Now, that is as a red rag to a raging bull like Bolt, who charges to re-run the whole thing because he is “Nailing another warmist scare endlessly repeated by journalists”

So, both the Oz and Bolt have run the same thing: Peer-reviewed paper by Eric Neumayer and Fabian Barthe of London School of Economics and funded by re-insurers Munich Re in Global Environmental Change, November 18, 2010:

"Tackling the racists by giving them what they want":

Andrew Bolt apparently accepts the contention that almost half of Australians are racist against Muslim people. That they feel negatively towards people they have never met simply because of their religion and culture:

Of course! The way to tackle racist idiots is to drive out the people they want to drive out! I don’t know why we didn’t think of it earlier.
