does depend on the situation

I seen Tim May get a standing ovation at Adelaide Oval after a hour an half plus at the crease for 0, the same game Jamie Siddons made 4 in about 2 hours and also got a standing ovation

Totally unique situation that one. And not a game we won either.

I know when I'm bowling I like nothing better than a guy who never scores off me. Gets me into a rhythm nicely. Good batsmen always find ways to score runs and the higher the level you play, the more important to put the bowler under pressure.

well the first week we went in to bat, after scoring 45 n craigmore makin 138-6 dec, with 10 overs the bat at the end of the day. i know im no special batsmen n will probly only ever be good for the odd 30 down the order playin in the higher grades. but i asked my captain if i could open the bat considerin this year we havent had an opening batsman really hang around at all. so i made it my business to stay there for that ten overs, i really didnt care about runs. then on the second week of the game i just wanted to occupy the crease, spend time in the middle. the game was lost already and we wanted to try bat out the overs as this was somethin we have been unable to do in the B grade all season. so yeah there probably was balls there i could have scored off but i was just defending what was on the stumps n leaving what was outside the stumps. to craigmores credit there was no loose long hops that deserved to go the boundary

sometimes if batters are not scoring off you and you know there are good batters to follow its better just to let the not so good batters stay in its a tactic that can work to keep the runs down until they relise what your doing lol

Noticed in the Sals West/Lodge match 27 wickets fell for 290 odd runs.....any pitch related dismissals??? ;)
Also where has Picton gone? Does he not play for Sals West anymore?

Is papas that good? No full tosses? No half vollies? Nothing short? In 10 overs? A big well done from me but how ******* boring is that..good to spend time out there but ya need to score more runs in ya life than you would be needed to save a game..so practice what you need to do. Next week you might need 40 off 50 balls...what good is leaving 40 balls the week before going to do for you there?

We have a bloke from the other end who takes the wickets i just keep the runs down. A good change of pace helps aswell ;)
I think us bowling them out for 44 the week before made them just wanna survive really and to his credit f2f he wasnt looking like getting out so we did well to talk advantage of that.

if we need 40 from 50 balls... i can pretty much guarantee i wont be gettin it lol. thatll be yet another loss in the book for OTHs B grade ;) the way we are playin at the moment i think we would be happy just to get within 40 runs of winning a game

I still think you had opportunities to score runs but with a negative mindset you dug yourself into a hole like Catchit said.
I would of thought there were a few times you could of got of the mark but some of the running between wickets was not good with a few near misses. Non striker didnt help the situation with yes/no calls.
