Why? It's a D grade side versus a D grade side. When we played FP early on, they were pretty good. I know injuries hurt them later in the year. With a few good pick ups in their A grade, they will have strong sides across the board. I don't think their C grade would struggle in Div 7, or their D grade in Div 7R. Personally, I'd be quite happy for them to leave C5 ;)

Ohh come on Demon don't be like that! :D
I would think we will be a lot stronger than last year if present indications are correct. Huge numbers out both nights of the week. Us old cricketers sit and watch when we have a warm down with a few pale ale's.
I know we wouldn't struggle in Div 7 and 7R's we have a lot of quality players in our c and d grade that can't commit and most of us play cricket so we can't do a full pre season. We would love to play higher as i have said before, it's good for the whole club to play as high as possible. We have had people start in the d grade and go on to play solid A and B grade footy in the same year. Maybe some of these people should come and watch and see it's not a bunch of old and fat blokes having a kick and catch........... besided myself!
How are you blokes looking this year? I would think i will be suiting up against you guys this year.

So you guys haven't nominated for Div 7?

We are looking really good. Regularly getting excellent numbers out to training. We've lost the services of our top 3 in the B & F, but with quite a few new blokes and some players returning in the higher grades, we could potentially have 8-10 blokes who played B grade last year playing C grade this year which will certainly help our cause

Sounds like it will another good year in c5. It helps when a club gets new recruits higher up, puts pressurs on most to perform. I am not too sure what we have nominated for but i will find out thurs night and let you know.

i think you will find that the division ends up nothing like that.in c4 we had 10 nominate and accept and have since already had two teams pull out
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

I agree I think the league is doing something different with the lower graded C grade comps, I know C6 is going to change somehow and this may effect C5 also.

You would say that the 7 clubs from div 5 that have there C grade in this div would be untouchable? So as long as these 7 clubs dont pull out there C grade team there would only be 3 teams that may change C grade divs?

I'm not sure about Salis West and Woody South?? But you could put down HV, Plympton, Luthies, Brahma and Lockleys as definites...

Can you elaborate, Riddler?

Honestly don't know too much only the fact C6 will be amended somehow, how? I do not know. It may not even effect C5 but a lot could come down to Wingfield & North Pines fielding 1 or 2 teams.

Throwing this out there but could they combine C5 & C6 and split into a North/South comp? Would it work?

I would hope they do, last year in C4 we only had 8 teams and cluns didnt want to change the draw so we had 2 byes each week. Inthe end of the year we had a couple of forfiets and we ended up playing about 2 games in 5-6 weeks or something like that. Didnt end up hurting us as we won it in the end but wasnt the best preparation heading into finals.

Does look like a tough comp if it stays this way, is it just us and SMOSH that would be our D grades? or is Flinders Park their D grade also?

Could work maybe, but would stuff up the potential of triple headers clubs in the same A grade division could have had

For this reason I personally would be against the idea. Triple headers worked so well last year.

Agree with Bigshow, lot easier having everybody together. If hey are going to go with north/south crap might as well go back to 'C' on sundays like they use to in the cdfa, back in 1980's.
