Im going to agree with you predictions there !! except im predicting Nek b grade to be the surprise winners , with some depth coming back into the side , probably the strongest side fielded for a long time !!

Div 1 Fitzies v Vista GF tho im tempted to pick the underdog lutherans, just an inkling for some reason. Can understand why NEK are favs against us, but we always take the attitude of you never know what can happen when one side is highly favoured and one is not. We know NEK bat deep and bowl well but it all comes down to this game so we'll give it a shot and see how we go.

And to prove im not a nutbag, the BOM have realesed a chart that backs up my findings. The chart shows that during Feb-April there is a 35% chance of exceeding the average rainfall. So 35% would equate to 1 in 3, which funnily enuff would mean the third day (or extra day) of the GF would be a wash out. Sorry Typy just relaying the facts mate.

4. B.Park(the Enfield 'C' grade era is over) & cant pick it(there both crap sides so whoever doesn't play the crappiest will win

Hey Everyone... I just returned from the association meeting and here are the highlights:

1. I found out that Rooster's real name is something like "Andrew Price."
2. A certain iced-coffee lover contributed well to making the meeting last as long as it did.
3. It is still unclear who has claimed fourth spot in Division 4.

Just on that last point, for everytime we've ever won a match on first innings half way through the second day, and the opposition captain has whinged and moaned about not finishing early and either batting or bowling again, here is why we insist on playing on... a) we love cricket, and b) every run and every wicket counts!

On Saturday, Brooklyn Park embarked on their second innings against Wingfield requiring 80 runs for an outright victory, and 82 runs to secure fourth spot and knock Fitzroy out of the finals.

They got there, and played on, making 2/105 believing that this score was enough for them to reach the semi's... but it appears it wasn't. According to the rules, once a target is passed in the second innings, the game is in fact over. So Brooklyn park will actually be docked the extra 25 runs they scored, bringing them back to 80 - two runs less than required to secure top spot.

The only catch is that if Brooklyn Park was on 79, and the batsman hit a boundary (or a six) to pass both the target and the amount of runs required to secure fourth spot off the last scoring shot, they're in the finals.

It is to avoid close-run situations like this that we always play on if there is time left after the close of the first innings throughout the year! Those extra runs and wickets, as trivial as they are, always count!

The two questions I would have is


1) How is the executive going to work out from the books, how many runs were scored from the winning shot
and
2) Why did the game continue on once an outright result was achieved and more importantly why would the bonus runs be submitted in with the final scores. And I do understand mistakes can be made and I am sure Brooklyn Park would of had no idea of what they would of needed to get fourth spot and the game standing down at Seaton.

I implore all captains to read their rule books before turning out to this weekend's finals.

That is an excellant point, I found out on the weekend a couple of people from my club who should know the Rules didn't until pointed out to them, no matter how long they had been playing cricket for, and finally make sure you keep the Rule book with you.

In fact fact....before i signed the papers to my house i had to smoke a doobie just to prove i was eligible to move into the area. Also the postcode 5108 isnt a real postcode, its the Paralowie equivalent of the yellow pages telephone operator that'll tell you the nearest place to score some reggies.
