Is this the end for Kilburn?

But the ground would be a perfect ground for a club in that comp...
I know their major committee man has busted his gut over the past 5 years. He committed himself to trying to develope their juniors by being involved on the NEJCA board as well as running the seniors. Shame on all that are involved at Kilburn that have not done the same. One person cant do it all. Hope you guys can find the right person to lead your club to brighter days and not reflect on past appointments that could cloud your judgement on a good future. All the best.

Council will lease the ground out to another club. Kilburn would then have to find a ground to play on..
With so much time, effort and money put into the square, there is no way the council will rip it up.

How can you be struggling to "finish the season off" in A & B grade but have the C grade with a "decent run at the Premiership". LO cricket was a great initiative by ATCA at the time but it has also been the undoing of many clubs.
ATCA and its member clubs desperately need to find a solution to the balance between traditional 2 day cricket and hit and giggle.

Don't disagree with this but on the other hand a club like Glenunga would likely not exist right now if it wasn't for the LO comp. We have an average age higher than most clubs and most guys have young families as well as work commitments. It just gets too hard to get people to commit to 2 saturdays in a row, no matter how much they want to play. Personally, I play just about every game but if I had to commit to next Saturday right now I wouldn't be able to guarantee my availablilty. It's the smae with a lot of guys these days. The LO comp offers a fantastic alternative.
And just to clarify, it's generally taken a bit more seriously that hit and giggle. Although I will grant that the intensity is a step down from the higher grades of 2 day cricket.

Can happen. Didn't Para Hills bowl them out for 50 earlier in the season? They have lost a lot of talented players and don't have much to play for. More importantly, will Hope Valley make the 263 runs required to stay in A2? Tough assignment.

Had a chat to a couple of the boys and not too much of a change from the previous week.
Think the lads are looking forward to the end of the season, there was no excuses when asked about the weekend. Just put it down to a long year. Hopefully they can recruit a bit to help with a re-build of some of the younger lads.
