Wouldn't suprise me, he's an excitement machine, cant understand why he didn't get more time on the park this year.
I love watching him play.

Becouse we prefered to have 35+ year olds on the field instead.
Once he scores the goals will just keep coming, was a gun the 1st time i saw him play against Miami FC, and his goal for Australia a couple weeks ago was unreal, top bloke to.

Unfortuantely Ang's knee still isnt good, is a week by week proposition at best...agree Djite is exciting, has height, speed, skills, size and touch...let him loose!!!

I can't wait to see Djite get more game time next season.
Every time I've seen him play he's come on and created.
He came on late in the December Victory game - earnt me as a fan from then on.

Also can't wait to see him in concert with Burns and Owens (playing in his rightful position).

What's thoughts on Shenqing (spell?) and Petta for next year? Both good players, but many injuries this year. Is it time to let Rech go?

I don't think Qu will play any part in the ACL at all unfortunately.
Petta should play and should be fine for the opening match. He is a class act and when he got a run in the side this season he was fantastic, when he consistently played earlier in the year he showed his skills then unfortunately got injured and hardly got a game after that. Eventually he was given a run and played very well against Sydney and put in another superb performance in Gosford, it was a pity he hurt himself before the Victory first leg but he even looked the goods in the first 15 mins or so before getting subbed off.
Fernando i am unsure about.. he has been in pretty bad form the past few weeks, hasn't done much for a while, there are others who should go before him though so i think he will be around for another year.

i heard whispers rech will be headed home next season, qu will also head home. petta may stick around. this will leave room for us to go out and purchase a quality striker and someone who can finish- something we lacked all season. get mori on board i say! he is still the best finisher in australia!

Agree with calls on Mori, I'd have him back in a heartbeat!

Fernando can go, he's pretty much in the Veart category .. Too old, too slow, and we need more than a main marksman capable of scoring once every 7 weeks or whatever it is ... We need frontliners that are quick enough to get in behind the defence.

If Qu is fit I wouldn't have any problems with him staying, but as pointed out elsewhere if he does move that free's up some decent $$ to target another quality striker so either way I think we're alright.

At first thought I think our defence needs shoring up (not just as a result of the GF), but then again maybe just a gaffer who can understand when it's underperforming could re-structure and re-style it to better effect (that said I've never been a Valkanis fan).

For those more in the know, do we face much threat of losing guys like Burns and Djite to rival club/comp?

Spaggy was plucked from the local comp I believe and IMHO showed he belongs on the main stage, is there further comparable talent that exists in the local comp?

I love watching him play.

Love watching Djite play as well, but he is still is a very raw player with loads of development to come.

Question to Wedgie: If Kosmina does get the "chop", would that be enough for you to start supporting Adelaide United?

Wonder if you blokes would have been sinking the boot in as hard if it had been a 2-1 or 1-0 loss?

Easy up.Take a deep breath.Beaten by the team that was by far and away the best side all year.Embarrasing loss in the Gf,no doubt, but hold on,you keeping any of the playing group?

Interesting you say that Boony.

I'm no means an expert - but the situations I've brought up, I've been questioning all season (Aloisi, Veart starting, Djite not, Qu's fitness, Rech's speed and Kossie's coaching). Those issues were there all season - and manifested themselves horribly in the GF.

Also, interesting to note that Melbourne won the premiership and are talking about wholesale changes by necessity.

Sorry Daniel, but I know I've been making the same calls all year ... Valkanis isn't up to it for mine, Veart, Fernando, Rocky - All passed it imho!

Since the finals began it's confirmed (for me at least) that unfortunately Richie Alagich's career must be just about at an end too.

I would be surprised if many Reds supporters felt too differently on those!

The only one I haven't bought into is the Kosi situation as I wasn't sure either way, but his performance in the finals series and post-GF makes me lean toward moving him along.

If all these guys remain involved next year and win the whole schebang I'll be more than happy to admit how wrong/stupid my thoughts were! :D

spot on with the first comment- the problems with the players and coach have been there all yr. wudnt mind seeing milton rodriguez and damian mori both suit up for united. maybe get some ex socceroo defenders- laybutt/thwaite etc.

melbourne have signed ljubo milicevic for next season.

Kossie has been on thin ice for a while now, a gf win would have just saved him though, now its not so certain.
and apparently with the whole Ang-Kossie thing after the game a punch was thrown. :o

by the sounds of it yes, not sure if it connected though.
if Kossie stays Ang will most probably leave as he will have a shit time next season if he does.

So why keep a caoch that causes these sort of divisions?
No one would criticise Ang's involvement this season....so where does the problem lie?
