If you are referring to a Grade 2 semi final, I highly doubt spiteful is the word, maybe extremely competitive and willing? I think the banter will be set at a cracking pace from the first ball ;)

Wouldnt want to be seen as arrogant though. ;)

Di was an amazingly kind-hearted woman as you well know and is a sad loss for the club but especially for Ledge and the rest of the family. Please pass on my condolences.

Thanks mate. I'll say the following:
"Ledge, That's Gold sends his condolences"

In all honesty, thanks for the PM, the funeral is next Friday at 12 noon at Womma Road followed by the wake at our club, it would be nice to see you there and for anyone else that has been associated with the Newman family.

Are you referring to Jackson? If so no, it was his 3rd A Grade game.

Thankyou follower, might see them local derbies again in the top Grade. I remember last season when you A's played at our ground and you guys had a private function on at your club you may aswell of had your awards at our joint.

Always a good game against our local rivals in Smithfield and the Parkers, always good to catch up for a drink after the game. Play hard on the field and leave it there.

Agree, was great to see the Craigmore b grade captain come in the club for a beer after play yesterday, especially considering the game was played with a tad of tension.

That is something we will be looking to do more often next season especially considering most of our lads will be 18 by then.[/quote]
Ahh I sat and had a beer with footy yobs on the hill!
They were much quieter once the day was over lol Even though there was a bit of tension, its still good to play games like that. You can't teach that tension at training.
With that... a slight deflection to the next topic!

Wow, didn't I cause a bit of a stir with that post :) LM you are right, I didnt need to go there, but I am glad my kids dont play under elevens in the pdca, sounds like the parents make sure its a very competitive comp! 8) .... Fair enough the Craigmore boys fired up I was having a crack, but dont take everything you read written after midnight to heart lads :D and dont try and turn my comments into a grade 2 psych out because your wasting your energy, I won't be there - old and unfit people like me dont play in our B grade. And since we dont have a grade 3 side anymore because we won the flag last year - and yes I played a decent part in that, my days of being in Brahma teams that smash craigmore b grade teams is over as well. :( ;) Its a bit of fun on a saturday Papas, lighten up mate and as to the Moron comment, anytime you want to get the trivial pursuit out over a few beers I am more than ready... :)

Honestly mate, the Friday night under 11 format is sensational. A great revenue raiser for clubs and well supported, I heard there was a capacity crowd at Uley Road on Friday night, the kids get a real buzz out of playing in front of so many spectators, we used to put the lights on occasionaly last season just to add to the buzz.

Fair call mate, I bet they absolutely love it. Anything that brings the kids through and shows them how much fun the game can be is so important. and the people who take the time to make that happen deserve everyones respect I have coached primary school kids myself. That was not the point I meant to make, using this forum to turn the result of an under eleven game into a point scoring debate is quite honestly very silly however. That was my point and I dont back away from that.

yeah the pepper tree was in good voice when frankie mac got on a bit of a role, we are expecting a pretty big crowd semi final weekend, it definatly lifts the guys.

to be honest though i think most of the tension was caused by the umpiring performance!

At the end of the day this is the foundation age for establishing the right culture in kids cricket. We take that pretty seriously and so does every other team I've played against. The result doesn't matter, as long as games are played in the right spirit and everyone is learning and improving.
We lend players to teams to ensure they have 11 on the field, offer support to opposition in coaching them to get back into their crease etc. Its a good family vibe... and parents, grandparents and family friends come and watch it because it is good to see kids having fun! Its a great supportive atmosphere. Its what junior cricket is all about.

Well so you should, I don't think Craigmore have been in such a good situation to make the move to Grade 1 (and that is not a psych out or a sledge, just my honest opinion). Both teams will be going hard to make the GF, that's just obvious considering it's a Semi final. I think the biggest winning margin this year has been 15 or so runs, so both matches have been close. I don't expect it to be any different in 2 weeks time.
