This I believe will go a little way to backing my theory but more importantly it will highlight just how badly we tended to fall away in second halves through a serious lack of fitness!!

..and also because you are crap.

Sorry, forgot the smiley did I? Just trying to demonstrate that Sturt weren't under attack in this thread because lots of people were supporting them. Hopefully I typed that slow enough.

Cheers REB

I know we weren't a top five side. My point was merely to highlight that given a solid fitness base, coupled with some better discipline from some senior players, we could well have won five or six instead of three.

Talking about crap, I wonder how your beloved 'Legs will go this year without Beefy? There are a few predicting lean times ahead at the Parade.........

Won't be the easiest of times for the Legs, and Beefy (despite what many think) will be a big loss ... Still look well short in the ruck and much will depend on the availability of AFL listed players, in particular Massie, Lower, Thomas, Pfeiffer, Campbell, Cockshell and Rodan ... If we get a good run with these guys, which we're every chance to do then we should be better than last season, problem is you would expect every opposition to have improved also!

I remember saying the same thing a couple of seasons back when you hadn't knocked us off for about three years!!

The wheel turns.

I can see where you are coming from CP, although I don't think you will see any of David Rodan and not a lot of Kris Massey.
Trevor Hill will get the best out of what he has to work with though because he knows footy and is a wonderful fella' all round.

LOL .. Well I hope he does!

I think we'll see Mass early but yeah, wouldn't expect to see him much (same with Rodan) ... Certainly Thomas, Lower, Cockshell and Bryce we should see a bit of and I'd expect them to go even better than they did last year.

I struggle to see any team this year languishing at the bottom on 1 or 2 wins and would think a team would need 6 to be safe ... Thought the comp in general evened up a bit last year and think it can do so even further again in 07.

I think Sturt will. However, don't rule out Norwood, Trevor Hill might be a top bloke but his relationship with the players isn't what it could or should be.

Just throwing this out for discussion gentlemen.

I have noticed nobody (except Jimbob ) has plumped for a West Adelaide wooden spoon in 2007. Now I am not saying they will or won't, but on what basis have people left them out?

Sure they have picked up a couple of recruits, but they are still being coached by the same bloke most West supporters don't rate and even more importantly they have lost a player in Ben Haynes who contributed 35 touches and 4 goals each week....

Now I heard many reports that same player was affecting team moral, so perhaps a happy team will perform better, but as I said, I'm just throwing it out there.

I've left Westies out because I actually do have faith in their coach, think they have recruited well and was impressed with some of the patches they played last year, when they applied themselves and played with determination they looked good and with an improved list I think they can improve significantly on last season.

PS: Congrats on the milestone MST

This shows that Sturt won 7 1st halves during the season and another was drawn - 3 ended up in wins.
Sturt won two 2nd halves and another was drawn - again they were the three wins.
