Only if you were confident and time permitting that you could roll the side again for a small total and then send your hitters out.
Of course if there wasnt much time or limited time etc, you would bat out and pray the mindas in the middle get the runs

with people like Papas, Gunnerson, Merki and Sports Follower posting on this forum there has been plenty of sh!t posts. but Phantom no offence but i reckon ur post of declaring 20 runs shy of a grand final win with 3 wickets in hand has to take the cake! its just pure 100% rubbish talk. i dont care what batsmen u have to come in next, u just would not do it.

i know if i was on the fielding side, n the battin side only needed 20 runs with 3 wickets in hand i would be praying for somethin special. and if they declared i would be jumping for joy, it would be like all my christmas' have come at once. i doubt any team in history in any form of cricket in any country in the world has declared in that situation and i honestly doubt it will ever happen in the future. for your own teams sake i would hope if u make the grand final, n ur captain... that ur team doesnt need 20 with 3 wickets remaining to win the game

Although what about if say you are in a final, your last 2 or 3 batsmen were absolute rubbish but you had a gun bowling lineup, you got within say 20 runs or so, maybe it would be in the best interest of your side to declare and bowl them out again? By declaring you are really giving yourself more overs and time to have a crack at them and really in the context of things, if your batsmen are that bad you are going to lose the game either way, its probably your best option?

I can see an agreement coming into the R&C vs OTH match, no matter the outcome of the first innings, and maybe during the AV vs Smithy's. Other matches there is no chance....especially with our guys vs Virginia.

im sure you could have sent back to my msg when i msgd you tuesday but no be childish and put it on here.. if you realized im never on here anymore only way i found out was because somebody PM me and told me how could team mates treat you like that so i scrolled through the pages.. thought you were a better man then this, you got what you want im out of the club..

for the record i never told jonty that i was playing he said you said i was playing when he rang me saturday night so get it right..

well rumour is that a couple of Rose N Crown players (who are consistent users of the forum) have been in contact with a couple of OTH players askin how many cartons it wud cost to throw the outright.

to the OTH boys credit they have rejected this offer and promised to take the game to Rose n Crown n give 100% and even have aspirations to win the game themselves.

nevertheless... when i heard about this offer i thought it was extremely poor, and if this is what Rose n Crown is about then im certainly glad i play elsewhere. poor form in my books. win the premiership of ur own back. n if u cant, then u dont deserve it.

any comments from the Rose and Crown players involved in this offer? they know who they are. are they willing to comment?

The rule states that you cannot declare in your 2nd innings behind the other team, I had it clarified and you can declare behind on the 1st innings though.

f2f you have answered your own question its all RUMOUR you come on here saying you have heard a rumour so how can you hang the players and club before you know for sure anyway but believe me it will be bullshit as your only cheating yourself to be the best you have to beat the best END OF STORY so if thats how you are i too am glad you play elsewhere!!!
