How many players are gonna be lost if it becomes a regular part of the fixture where you have to play every week at 10.15am competing against working overtime, taking your kids to their sports, friday night social life or on the other hand play at 5 or 6 every Saturday night in the middle of winter where there is social and family outings, AFL football. 2 a year is plenty, promote the day, play a local or rival club, have past players, fundraisers, bands etc make them an event on the calender not just a every week same ol against any ol opposition.
Btw I can't recall the t20 world cup being a huge success, Big bash yes but that has alot to do with the time of the year it is played
All of your arguments for blokes not playing are valid - and they also apply to A graders who play at 2.15pm. Not just C graders who play at 10.15am. Work, family, social life. Probably the 3 most common reasons other than injury as to why we lose players to our great game. Triple Headers aren't going to change that. For some guys, they can play early and finish early and still have the chance to spend most of the day with their family if they choose to. There are arguments on both sides of the coin. Obviously you don't like triple headers. I do, and our football club does and that's why I'm annoyed at North Haven.
We've got more c grade players than ever before because blokes like the fact they can have a kick and catch, then have a few beers and still watch the rest of their team mates play. It brought our club closer together as one last year, instead of the old A's, B's - and, oh yeah, how did the C grade go?
We're not really going to get anywhere and can both argue till we're blue in the face about the pros and cons. So I'll leave it at this:
Like triple headers: Hope Valley, Plympton, WB12, Jabber, S Demon
Don't like triple headers: LMA and North Haven
