Hard drive crashed

Just reformatted my hard dive and reinstall windows xp ok. went to install a driver
and every thing seemed ok until it told me to reboot the system....as it shut down
that was the end of it...got nothing at all now..i can hear the hard drive and cd rom
sounds, but nothing on the screen at all...just the hard drive light is continuous...
The monitor is ok as i checked it on this pc.
ANY IDEAS..Has my hard drive crashed? i'm using my spare old pc to get on at the moment.

If you get no post messages on the screen it is unlikely to be caused by the latest driver you installed. Is the hard drive making any unusual noises like loose bearings or clunking of any sort? If so the drive could be dying or dead. It's probably worth reseating all the cards in the PC such as the video card, sound card, modem, network card etc. Also reseat the RAM. If this doesn't work try taking everything out an one by one add the cards back in. If it boots until you put one of the cards in you know it's that.

Thanks_rodrooster......just been chatting to a pc whiz...found out the bios
is not detecting the hardrive..getting it fixed Tuesday.
