While I've only seen a few names I've heard there are plenty of recruits going to ports and if a mail medalist is going aswell they should be pretty strong. Hopefully they can be competitive and really make a run in the finals. Would really be good to see them win a flag

Also is Brad Wake still playing there?

Ports are a very young team and they have a positive thinking coach who is only in his second year. I would think the signing of Steve Whillas could be purely for his off field influence.

Ports have promised a lot over the last few years since their centenary but lack of experience amongst their ranks has seen them lose a lot of games they should have won. Having a senior respected player out there with them could be the steadying influence that has been missing, despite what he contributes to the stat sheet.

I think it may have been the players that were'nt there that was the difference.

No I meant missing from last year.

Cleve still with Pat and Dylan, Merv, Joel Nield and Kirvan should have done better against a team who have virtually no new recruits and a few weeks ago were only getting six players to training.

Actually Rudall had one new player - Guy Elliott, who was named third best and he played B grade for Cowell last year.
