Footy Smart - are any of these copying licences and fingerprinting shennanigans going on there?

No fingerprinting at HQ, well i havent been there for a month! IDs though, dont know about gigs though

That's good. Spose in reality nothing bad would come of it, but geez it'd give me she shiiiiits having to give up my fingerprints to get in somewhere.

Been to HQ for gigs & they only check your id. That don't give you the standard metal detector treatment or any other checks.

Hey i dont mind having my ID scanned and or the metal detecter. It could be a deterant to some d*ckheads that cause trouble and/or can be used in evidance if an incident was to happen involving me.

A fair few places do it, London Tav, Red Sq and a few others

I have no issue with the scanning of your ID as it is used to help identify people on camera if they do something stupid. Don't understand the reasoning behind fingerprinting though

Funny, most of these nightclubs are owned by people with nefarious backgrounds. What might happen to the ID if they take umbrage with someone...
And, we all know that if you're connected, you'll get in anyway, so the dodgies will still get in anyway.
Glad the clubbing days are behind me.

As if you'd give your ID to one of these mobs? Nice little racket that. What about people that don't have a driver's licence are they now not allowed to enter these venues? I wouldn't go to a nightclub if you paid me but a long time ago I did go to Heaven for a Grinspoon gig and if they had have asked for/taken away my ID I would've kicked up a huge fuss. You've already paid for the bloody ticket.

On checking the Liquor Licensing Act and the Summary Offences Act I cannot find anywhere that it gives crowd controllers the authority to take ones fingerprints. Being involved in the security industry and until just recently lecturing in it, no training organisation that I am aware of teaches persons in the security industry how to fingerprint. Whilst not suggesting what the particular establishment is breaking the law there must be some doubts over what they are doing. Also if they are live scan prints where are they being stored and for how long. Do the crowd controllers follow procedures set out for SAPOL under the Summary Offences Act for taking fingerprints etc.

If anyone can enlighten me with a PM to which establishments are doing the fingerprint procedure I would appreciate it thanks

I doubt they would have to have it as a law. As the signs say Management have the right to refuse entry, if they refuse you because you won't do it then in the end it's the punters choice.

Gozu regardless of whether you get your ID scanned they are still required to be viewed if you don't have a licence most people have a Proof of Age card.

He is - that's the only reason I occasionally went to some similar places in my youth too.
Once I was in a position that made me a "good catch" and eliminated the supply problem I gave them up. ;)

I didn't know The London did fingerprints before you entered.
I think The Fightlander (Highlander) and Red Square do, but i've never been there and never will go there.

Rundle Street is way better than Hindley.
