No idea...did they score a point on the siren or something??? cos the Bays last goal only took it to 75.

How good was Drew Clayfield in the first 10 mins ?
2 fantastic goals to start the night off in the right manner for sure :D

His goal from over near the boundary reminded me of his goal in U19s GF at Footy Pk. As did his big grin. He is a very talented forward, who adapted well into a defender to get his senior opportunities. I'm so proud of what he has done so far to start this season at both ends of the ground.

And Nick Cane's goal down the other end - Absolutely Superb !!!

Chris Curran was also great in his debut. Didn't look out of sorts at all.

I'm so glad these guys got an opportunity to display their abilities tonight.

Ben Kennedy really made his mark tonight. Brad Agnew just keeps getting better. And it was great Ruwoldt hit his straps. Best game I've seen from him in a while. Ben Mules and Trevor Cranston were fantastic, and with Ty Allen's return, the mix of generations is working well.
In fact hardly noticed Sam Rudolph ommission as his wife gave birth to his son in the early hours of Friday morning.

For those who missed the Reserves, you also missed big Warrick McGinty's awesome chase, tackle, then holding the ball free kick. Norwood guy couldn't believe it. Got the crowd on their feet.

I applaud you Wozza :)

Wazza must have inspired Todd Grima as his chase on the Grandstand side left the Norwood playing in disbelief.

Finally we saw Mickan's answer to the oppostition dropping a loose player in defence. Davis I think it was cleaned up a lot of long balls into our forward 50 in the first qtr after that we made the simple decision of manning that person up and played with a 7 man forward line.

Ben Mules was amazing down back and Ruwoldt took his game to another level tonight, lets hope he uses the ball to effect like that all the time. McMahon got plenty of it early but missed targets on a number of occassions.

The Highlight was the youngsters, Curran on debut down back, Agnew shaddowing Eagleton and coming out on top, Clayfield up forward and pinch hitting in the ruck and Kennedy's first goal in League Footy was a ripper.

Yep Im pretty sure Bass instructed us to be 2nd to the contest so you might be onto something ;)

We were well outplayed tonight, and Im pretty certain the margin doesn't reflect how much more impressive the Bays were than us.

PS: Hey Jabber .. Lol I got nothing, well played ya prick! ;)

Interesting reflecting on the game now ... the prevailing thought seems to be the Bays outplayed Norwood, applied fierce pressure, won the stoppages and had many more scoring shots.

All that may be true, but the fact is the Bays didn't make the most of their opportunities and the scores were level halfway through the last quarter, and at that point in the game Norwood had kicked the previous 3 goals and had all the momentum ... only 3 late goals to the Bays sealed the deal. Norwood should get some credit for hanging in for so long.

Yes, nice to win, good signs from the young players that are being rightfully blooded this year from a large group of talented youth at the club, both nothing to get too carried away with.

My take out is that the Bays and Redlegs gained a bit more respect for each other ... and what a great crowd for what was a perfect, mild April night.

Oh, and one last thing, sorry TSG, you'll need to wait at least a couple more weeks ...

It was a great night out at the footy - except for the score of course. It seemed to me that the pressure applied by Glenelg was what caused Norwood's numerous skill errors & turnovers. The tiges got off to a good start, Norwood came back in Q2, repeat in Q3 and Q4. I was very impressed by Norwood's resilience - Glenelg shut the Legs run down but Norwood hung in there. As for the massive crowd, you could almost hear the crowd patting themselves on the back as the crowd figure was announced late in the game...local footy IS alive and well. I was disappointed by Norwood's insistence in trying to beat 'just one more man' before making a disposal - We needed to move to a "speed kills" offence(as my hoops coach used to call it). By faffing about with just one more handball and some no-look handpassing or hor passing to a flatfooted team mate (due to the pressure applied) we just gave Glenelg too many opportunities to apply a fierce tackle and the maggots (who weren't too bad) to call HTB:(
Well in Tigers..perhaps we should have changed the date to September and called the game a 'final' we might have had the mental edge then:P overall they did deserve to win and it would have been a gut punch for them if Norwood had maintained the momentum in the last and snuck home.
Our Legs need to bounce back strongly against Centrals next week at the Oval in front of probably another big crowd on Anzac day.
C'mon you Reds....Adelaide United = its just like watching Brasil!!!

I love both footy[NOT the V/AFL!] and soccer, is that even allowed??;)

Great to see such a good crowd.

Who were Norwood's better players? Jericho kicked 5, was he that good and did Cranston win the ruck duels? Also, how is Webber going?

How did Ty Allen go and who played full back for the Bays with Rudolph not there?

Thought Cranny won the ruck duels all night when he was on. Had a very good game.

Ty Allen 8) Great to see him back. Very good for his first hit out for the year.

Fullback mainly Chris Curran, had a good game. Ruory Kirkby played CHB.

Mals point still stands ... Take that game out and I can't remember Norwood beating the Bays in the last 4 or 5 years
