Always good to showcase the SANFL with empty seats , it's a great look.
Sounds harsh but maybe these clubs get their TV tuurn against a better crowd pulling side and same for the Eagles.

ABC Digital call from their box up in the Bradman Stand behind, right behind the goals while the RPH and LifeFM call from the 3rd Umpires Room on level 2.
ABC TV did their call from about 3 'rooms' down, toward the Northern end, meaning they were about level with the half forward / half back line down that end.

Wouldnt have though that would be high enough to call the game?
Another reason to vote NO to AFL at AO, they will have to put a huge media structure in the Western stand

ABC Digital call from their box up in the Bradman Stand behind, right behind the goals while the RPH and LifeFM crew have to call from the 3rd / 4th Umpires Room on level 2.
Unfortunately these rooms have a fixed pane window and therefore they can't open any sliding window to at least get some crowd and background noise in.
LifeFM used the wireless mic yesterday and have that permanently switched on to pick up some crowd noise (good and bad hey Festr) and of course the last ode / presentations.
ABC TV did their call from about 3 'rooms' down, toward the Northern end, meaning they were about level with the half forward / half back line down that end.

Oh please Dutchy. That's got to be the most ridiculous reason yet.

Yeah, understand how that would have been the case HP, unfortunately LifeFM does not have the sound equipment on offer to that of ABC TV and unfortunately the 'media' box allocation was out of LifeFM's hands and is also dictated where ISDN lines are installed.
Unfortunately, the wireless mic was all that was on offer in order to pick up any effects noise and when it is a small hand held one, it's not going to pick up huge levels of back ground noise.
To be honest, it was mainly done to avoid the commentators sounding like they were calling from a phone box, because as I mentioned above, there is no sliding window to have 'natural' background noise.
We decided, as was the case last Friday night for Eagles v Sturt, that something was better than nothing pretty much.
