I agree. It is like many people think America should have done nothing for fear of upsetting the terrorists, and that people shouldn't celebrate for the same reasons.
I am hoping that the fall of their figurehead should stifle terrorist activities somewhat, so I think it is better to announce it publically. To allow a myth to develop that he's "still alive somewhere in those caves" would almost raise him to the level of a minor deity, untouchable by the forces that want him the most, and an eternal morale booster for terrorists.
