Do Teasdale and White fit the criteria? (age, games played?)

Maybe it was what he (Kuliwoski) off the ball as well? It's probably not fair to judge his selection if you didn't see his game?

For what it is worth, I was very impressed with what I saw in him during his debut game at Prospect a few weeks ago against North. Might have only 10 or so disposals then, but it was the 1%'ers that impressed me from him.

Hope people aren't getting confused with the NAB rising star award. I'm sure everyone will win a prize.

why are we so obsessed with stats?

i agree with you bp,1%ers,work off the ball, can be far more important than running around the back for a cheap handball then an ineffective kick. Good on the lad i reckon.

To be eligible for the award, nominees are required to be aged 21 or under at January 1, 2011 and to have played no more than eight State League games at the start of the 2011 season.

Note AFL rookies are eligible for the award unless promoted to the senior list of their AFL club.

Players who are suspended by the Tribunal in 2011 are ineligible for the award.

White DOB 1/04/89 - Age 21 as at at January 1, 2011 and had played 4 state laegue games at start of the 2011 season and no suspensions in 2011 therefore eligible.
Stats on Saturday were 16K 7HB 2M 1T 1G

Teasdale DOB 6/04/91 - Aged under 21 as at at January 1, 2011 and had played 1 state laegue games at start of the 2011 season and no suspensions in 2011 therefore eligible.
Stats on Saturday were 8K 7HB 3M 1T

The only thing I would say is that this award typically goes to a player on a winning side.

You be the judge.

Teasdale was very unlucky in Round 1, that was his best game but he was pipped by the lad from Norwood who kicked the winning goal in their game against Port. I think like the Jack Oatey medal the chosen player generally comes from the winning side. Having said that Nick Murphy won the award last year and he didn't play in too many winning games last year.

This is starting to look suspicious. Teasdale with 10 kicks 6 handballs and 3 goals was definitely a better player than Clayfield last Saturday. Once again all I can come up with is that Clayfield was on the winning side. But then how did Nick Murphy win it last year?

I'm sure its not based on just the one game. The weeks leading up to the nomination are considered also.

So Teasdale just needs to ensure that it is not a flash in the pan performance...

But three times at least so far we have been expecting him to be nominated. After Round 1 when he was pipped by the lad from Norwood who kicked the winning goal and the last two weeks. He didn't play too badly in the other games as well. Who are the judges?

Teasedale mustn't be doing the 1% and reading the play and off the ball stuff. It's a strange comp.

Obviously, will be missed by the Tigers with his State duties over the next month or so. Well done Ben.

Chris Bonney of West Adelaide Football Club is this week’s Powerade Star Search winner with his solid work rate and ability to continually force a contest winning him the award for the week.

The 19 year old who originates from the Barmera Monash Football Club has had a strong year in the Reserves this season.

In his league debut against Centrals at Playford Alive Oval last weekend, his versatility was his strength as he played a somewhat unfamiliar role at centre half forward and finished with seven kicks, seven handballs, five marks and one goal.

Congratulations Chris!

He's really had an excellent year and become an important part of our on ball unit. Looks like a good 10 year league player for the dogs.

Any chance he will be drafted?

Luke Brown was nominated in Rd 1 and is said to be a certainty to be drafted. He played all but 1 game (missed through injury) as well as state u/18s. I thought he would have been a good chance to win this award.

I know Schiller has had a good year and even stitched up Eagleton one week, IIRC. But to win this award you'd think he was more like a draft certainty rather than a 10 year Dogs player?
Steve Bradbury and Michael Milton. Aussie Legends.

Unless Luke Brown is drafted by a local club, won't be at the Parade next year ...

Hard to comment when you only see your own side play most weeks, but this bloke must be a potential gun, as Brown is.
