Even the young kid boundary umpiring was good.

We played a pretty good first half, led Kilburn by 8 goals at half time. To their credit, outplayed us in the third quarter, margin back to 18 points at 3/4 time, but we steadied and got it back out to 48 points by the end with a decent last quarter.

Kilburn move the footy really well when they get a run on, got some really good users who can penetrate by foot (Galbraith, Whelan, Howson) and some genuine pace. Will have ups and downs within games being a young side, but will be very good if they put four quarters together. Was good to have a beer with Shrek afterwards, haven't seen or heard from the great man for a while. Wasn't too bad down back for them either.

Umpiring was very good....surely not.
I am not one at all to complain about the umpires, and have to say the standard of umpiring has been very good this year.
On the weekend they did protect the player going for the ball, but anyone who yelled out, threw their head back, dropped to their knees etc etc got a free kick. Any crappy acting job got rewarded.

Your 'B' grade umpire is an interesting one. Does she realise that blowing her whistle a million times whilst their is a blue going on is a waste of time? Also, sticking a yellow card in someones face, so the card actually makes contact with the players face only makes a heated situation worse? Clear lack of respect for the players.

Whilst you have your cheat continue to trot around umpiring B Grade games I'd suggest you get back in your box criticising anyone else's umpires..

If you think our Ump cheats then you clearly don't know the bloke.
You don't think this deserves criticism?
....we have also had 3 different guys do the B grade in the last 3 years, so you might be thinking of a different person.

I reckon we've had all 3 over the years and couldn't really draw a line between any of them. They were all bad !!
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

No, it was certainly your ump.
Skobes gets free kicks because he goes kamakaze head first into everything. Your full fwd kicked had 8 kicks for the day, 5 of which were free kicks which he kicked 4.1 from. Just fell over and yelled everytime he went near the pill, having said that he is a pretty crafty player.
Just because you win doesn't mean you can't have an opinion, but good to see you recognise good boundary umpiring when you see it.

Hard to be as u say a Kamikaze on the weekend floating Half Back still is a very good player though. Our forward pocket got frees and should have got more with what was being dished out by number 16 to him, our Full Forward on the other hand had 6 frees against for chopping the arms ( strange seeing he is not the defender ) But I will stick with my initial statement thought the umps were fine.

Again great win thoroughly deserved.

get overs the umps, 95% (based on no stats at all) of the matches played in saafl both teams will say that they had the umpire against them! umpires are bound to make a few terrible decisions each match but the same happens with players.

think they were up 7 goal to 1 @ 1/4 time. Fought back to match them and lose by 6 goal.

This was always going to be a ripper game!! No disrespect to the eagles ruckman but no Halliday hurts you guys. Having first hands on the footy with crisp, direct movement saw heccies jump out of the blocks. maybe a lesson learnt against Unley who jumped the hounds early on, but were inaccurate in front of the sticks. Credit to the eagles they never dropped off similar to the GF last year.

Just be warying visiting teams, make sure you can grab a lift out there because the eagles will fill you full of p*ss and pies before you leave! Much appreciated and be wary of the hectorville fishbowls on your return leg!!

Down from the country for work and decided to watch a old mate play a couple of B grade games for Green Acres and noticed they have lost a few players after the club took a stand on some matters with training etc. Three have apparently gone allready with the chance of more to follow. Seems players are reluctent to train and the club want to change their attitude with some not liking how they are going about it.

Just happened to get beaten by Sailsbury and Scotch about the same time so it seems a few spot fires are about to break out

Any Green Acres people care to comment

I think old mate in the B grade has his story a bit muddled up there. As for Saturday was disappointing to go down to scotch in what was a cracking contest for 3 and a bit quarters, plenty of lead changes and a fast paced game on the big thebby oval, facilities were a treat ( except for the hot water running out) looking forward to the return bout there against them. Also I must say the umpiring was the best quality I can remember, it's good to play out a game without being frustrated about them!! Onto this week we're hoping to bounce back from a couple of losses, Kilburn at Kilburn I'm sure will be no easy task.

Sorry you are right i missed that one. Probably because i was keeping an eye out for the half page write up we usually see from you about elizabeths game and how good they are...Not too sure if i agree with you though i saw the game and i thought your lads were lucky that it was not a 10 goal loss hectorville switching off in the last 5 to 10 minutes allowed three or four easy goals to be kicked.. I will give credit to the very loud supporters in the pocket makes for a good atmosphere and a win like that so much sweeter

the elizabeth team is very different from last yr. saw 4-5 players from last yrs GF running around their Bs. missing jones and switala (or whoever it was who played central last yr) so im sure they will be a lot different next time we play them.

and cheers to elizabeth for the beers after the match. first time ive stayed around after the match and it was worth it
