The new craze.... Planking...

I have planked, and I will plank again...

It's a good laugh, but some people can be stupid.

And no disrespect to the dead guy, but seven stories up, on the edge, pissed, that's just silly...

There's a line, and he crossed it...

Nothing different with planking than everyone making the today show T symbol

I reckon it's a good laugh, kind of like when people stole garden gnomes and took photos of them in stupid locations. Generally harmless fun.

If someone wants to be an idiot under the influence, then it's not the planking that's the problem. Like jumping off a jetty head first into shallow water, if you're going to try and balance off a balcony then the result shouldn't be a surprise.

It's funny how you continually bag the crap out of Facebook and use an online forum, there's not much difference really.

Yeah, this forum is just like facebook, 'coz I can look up all my old school friends here and bore them senseless with pics of myself in compromising poses, detailed descriptions of what I ate for breakfast, endless lists of sh!t that I "like", and meaningless status updates which fail to hide the fact that my life is utterly devoid of any real substance.

Oh, but facebook has planking. I guess that's the only salient difference.

I only just found out what planking is. I will probably have a go at it, although not on a balcony rail seven storeys up. I'd like to attempt planking on one of the cows across the road but I'm scared they'll stampede me if I try it. I think I'll just do it at the footy club one night or something.

Back in my day 'phooning' was the big craze - you stand on one leg with the other raised behind you like you're frozen in a running pose. I've got one of me doing it on top of the whale tail at Victor, and one on top of the Pinnacle at Halls Gap. :)

Planking or cocaine?

Doesn't make planking seem too bad?

That seems to be the one fact that the media don't seem to want to mention, the number of people killed from choking on their own vomit alone whilst being smashed off their faces drunk is more than the road toll, let alone the various other incidences like this that occur, only recently a young lad was run over by a semi travelling at low speed because after he was on the p*ss he thought it might be a good idea to run underneath it.

What concerns me is that it does not seem all that long ago that when people got drunk and did stupid things that their mates generally intervened and stopped them getting injured, such as not letting your mates drive or walk home smashed from a party or so on. These days in both of these incidents at least, their mates simply stood and watched. Clearly its totally the fault of the person intoxicated, yet I do think all people have a duty of care to try and prevent things like this from happening. The end result is not something anyone feels good about or thinks is funny right about now I suspect.

LMAO - No, not so. I thought if "planking" can become a phenomenon then anything could.

Good point. There seems to be a trend where people use Facebook to try and "one up" each other (if that makes sense?).
