Heard Kilburn A's won by about 80 points, and the B's gave Greenacres a touch up to. Surprising result in the A's one would think

Pretty gutting loss for WOSFC against Pulteney today. I think they can still stave off relegation but it will take a few wins on their deck in the second 'arf of the year.

I posted this after our loss to Salisbury and since then we have suffered 2 more losses the loss against the Chics yesterday was a discrace.

As a spectator yesterday we got flogged every where by Kilburn, canteen shut by 1/2 time in the A's ,I dont think the BBQ even got lit and 2 cans of WE Draught and a stub of TEDs cost $17.20 jeeees when you get beaten by Kilburn they beat you everywhere ......got beaten on the park, stayed hungry and couldn't afford to get pi$$ed...no wonder the Kilburn faithfull had eskys and food in their cars...very street smart

Well done to the Chics yesterday they outplayed our blokes from the first bounce and were a lot more fired up and desperate for the footy...based on what I saw they will win more games this year than most thought

Well done to fitzroy yesterday kept up with heccies for the 1st 1 and a half quarter, played better then I expected, they were hard at the ball! and will win a few matches I would think was hard to get use to fitzroy wearing heccies guernsey and heccies wearing there new strip.

From what i have heard from a fitzroy person, scotch are the team to beat this year and the result yesterday proves it!

Also anyone see the HUGE colour add greenacres have in the sunday mail ... for their under 8s! (and im not implying the are paying players!!!)

Pants by Pultney on the weekend in the lovely parklands. 2nd half did not give a yelp, have to keep working and I have no doubts we can win a few this year hope its enough to stay up

Whoa Turk. Don't know that your lack of appreciation at Kilburn is due to your loss or what. However the canteen was viable all day and beer costs don't vary too much anywhere (and let me tell you I know). I guess you didn't come into our rooms after the game but I can tell you your players and members that did were made to feel welcome and the repartie was terrific. Get over the result. Thanks to all of those players (and not just our ex players) that came in and mixed, that is what amateir footy is about.

If there's on thing I've learnt on here, Turk gives an honest evaluation what ever the result is, as for the drink prices, most of the clubs I've frequented over the years have match day specials to try to stop patrons bringing their own. It's quite simple, sell it at a reasonable price and people will buy, if you don't, it's just a quick trip down to the drive-thru.
I'm pretty sure he highlighted that Greenies were completely outplayed by you guys and even gave your boys a compliment for the remainder of the season.
You can take the criticism and pass it on to the powers that be or just ignore it and see if it's mentioned again during the season, there's not a lot you can do about a canteen running out of food, it's pretty hard to determine attendance trends in the SAAFL.

Cheers OE. Looks about right to me. Perhaps let the Jets out closer to Elizabeth than Salisbury as both both Salisbury and Heccies stitched up the Jets at Kingswood. Will be clearer in three weeks time. (perhaps)

Paid $6 for a beer after our game at Kilburn, paid only $4 for a beer at Pulteney on the weekend. That's 50% different.

Didn't even get around to buying a beer at Heccies as they shouted the A's some after the game so that's infinity % different.

NW I did come in and got some flak (whilst trying to have a pi$$ mind you), but I understand and expect to give or get depending on the scoreline. Was I in the best frame of mind ...no but I guess you would understand its no fun being on the end of a belting ( I think I'm correct in saying you've had your share in recent times and would not have enjoyed them one bit) in saying that people were made feel welcome so well done.

Will agree to disagree about canteen but if you sold out as LM suggested then so be it, I'm over that one but as for your beer prices ...the same round (I purchased at Kilburn) from the GFC BBQ tent for non members (ie visitors) would be $12 and for GFC members $9
it would be more if you drank inside Grand North but thats not our bar and we have no control in that area (and dont want any) and I dont think thats the case at Kilburn, Fitzroy from memory sell Hiennies for $5 over the bar so......

again well done Kilburn you flogged us everywhere...so play on

Umpiring was very good....surely not.
I am not one at all to complain about the umpires, and have to say the standard of umpiring has been very good this year.
On the weekend they did protect the player going for the ball, but anyone who yelled out, threw their head back, dropped to their knees etc etc got a free kick. Any crappy acting job got rewarded.

Your 'B' grade umpire is an interesting one. Does she realise that blowing her whistle a million times whilst their is a blue going on is a waste of time? Also, sticking a yellow card in someones face, so the card actually makes contact with the players face only makes a heated situation worse? Clear lack of respect for the players.

Whilst you have your cheat continue to trot around umpiring B Grade games I'd suggest you get back in your box criticising anyone else's umpires..

cheat not sure but incredibly over officious almost farcical at times
