Correct weight.
Birdwood won first quarter then kersbrook won second and third to be 7 goals up at three quarter time. Birdwood kicked 9 goals to 2 in the last to draw the game in a nail biter with Shawn 'cougar' Dawson kicking his 7th goal after the siren. Cracking day of footy with both senior games being decided by a point.

should be interesting facing his old team mates.
Very big game for both teams, Both with very classy on ballers. and the battle of the full forwards Dylan bingos against Conrad Morris
Wish i was able to watch this one :(
maybe i'm a little biased... i wouldn't put dylan bingos in the same league as conrad morris, if thats the battle it comes down too birdwood would win by 15 goals!! fortunately for kersbrook, thats not the battle it will come down too! ;)
was at brooker park sat to see a great game birdwoods post game celabrations made it seem like they won the flag! Well i thought they might have atleast won!
great contest between the midfields hard to seperate
dawson huge for the roosters up forward as was bingos and when the ball hit the deck lees too for the brookers.
I would ask the rooster never to put mish bingos and conrad morris up against each other again that was a terrible call morris kicked 3 all from over the top hand passes 0 contested possies a real good callington forward there would never trouble the scorers in a strugglin side.

im ready to admit Morris might of had a bad day...but he did kick 5 against Echunga, so he can play against the good sides, no doubt about that. As for Bingos, i've played a fair bit of footy against him in the past and never thought he was much good, but i'm definitely willing to concede he's improved a lot.

sounds like an awesome game of footy... and for birdwood too come back from 5-6 goals down at three quarter time and grab a draw after the siren, not suprised the boys would have a big sense of relief and celebrated some!

Was an awesome game Rooster. Expected big things from Birdwood but while they were impressive they are far from a dominating force I was led to believe for Hills Country. Morris (who calls their kid Conrad!) was smashed by Quill and yes his goals were 'Cheap' crumbing ones. Bingos after being in bed all week with the flu played admirably and with Lees provide a dangerous combination up forward. Apples v Mcgahey was a good battle and the Dawson bloke can play.

Still gotta say though Rooster, played a game called 'Spot the Local' during your A grade performance and couldn't find too many. Muster, Smith and Moerman (any 100 game players? maybe Moerman and that's it?) were a few but no wonder you blokes train in town one night a week. Rumor has it you blokes have a budget Gary would be proud of. McGahey rocked up in a BMW, Morris rode in on a Harley and Krieg was flown in on his own private jet. Now you wouldn't want to finish 2nd at the end of the year when you're spending like that!

You can add Mark Lamborn (who had to go to hospital at quarter time), Tommy Matters, Riley Harrison, Owen Cannon and Brett Ancel to those who have played juniors and are local at the club, but even guys like Pete Sanders (who was out on Saturday), Ryan Austin have been around for quite a while. Suppose it depends on your definition of local?

In terms of Morris on the weekend, did have a bit of a dirty day up forward but was moved into the guts in the last and was instrumental in the come back. Also if you have a look at who he kicks his goals against, counting last year against sides 10x better than Kersbrook, you'll see he's a big game player.

Just found the local count odd informer considering you blokes have usually always had strong juniors with the School next door to the Veledrome.

Fair point cougar. There are lots in our b grade but this is one of the big reasons we fought so hard to stay in central division. The percentage of juniors we kept during that stint would be higher I imagine (that's a guess) but working out how to keep quality juniors has always been a tough question. How many a graders on Saturday would have played juniors for you guys?

School has nothing to do with it cougar. The James, Pearce and bingos brothers went to birdwood high school. Does that mean they should've played for birdwood?

So Blackwood, Mt.Barker and Birdwood have probably had arguably the strongest juniors in the HFL for the past 2 decades but it's only coincidental there is a High School in those areas? No worries Joe Blow you make a lot of sense and where else are those Kersy guys spose to go to High school?

As for the guys that played Juniors Informer, they'd be Parasiers, Deluica, Hall, Moyle, Bingos, Pearce, B.James and P.James. While Hughes, Hall, Pearce, Deluica and Bingos would have played all over 100 senior games. Not bad considering we haven't had juniors for a few years now.

Meadows have been the most successful Junior club in Country the last ten years easy. 6 senior colt flags IIRC, plus they were undefeated for like 50 games. Unsure exactly how many junior colt flags but would be 4 I think. And an U13 flag. How many have Birdwood won in total in that time? 4?

8 vs 8??? Rooster we haven't had juniors for the last 4 years!!!! And I bet some of those blokes you mention above have only just started their senior careers, as I wasn't the only Kersbrook supporter or player who was quoted as saying 'Who are these blokes?'. I know it's been 4 years, but your list has changed considerably form when we last saw it.

Is that Shaun Dawson the ex Div 1 TTG player up there at Birdwood? No doubt he isn't playing up there for a packet of Chips as that guy is a gun. Big loss for the Gullies if it's him.
