1. gonna be interesting to see what happens to gumeracha at the end of the year to wether the club keeps thommo on or gets rid of him

2. interesting to hear a second year senior who played all their juniors at the club is looking at moving on next year to a SAAFL club

So Blackwood, Mt.Barker and Birdwood have probably had arguably the strongest juniors in the HFL for the past 2 decades but it's only coincidental there is a High School in those areas? No worries Joe Blow you make a lot of sense and where else are those Kersy guys spose to go to High school?

As for the guys that played Juniors Informer, they'd be Parasiers, Deluica, Hall, Moyle, Bingos, Pearce, B.James and P.James. While Hughes, Hall, Pearce, Deluica and Bingos would have played all over 100 senior games. Not bad considering we haven't had juniors for a few years now.

Cougar you missed a couple of 100 gamers from the Brookers P.James and Quill have notched up the ton and i would think B James, Parasiers and Farrugia would be nocking on the door of the milestone

No I didn't make the reunion McGovern , I had commitments with my kids sports in other leagues. Sounds like it was a cracker of a game , reminded me of the 93 GF at Mt Pleasant, when the LEDGENDARY Andrew' Bear' Newman kicked one with about 30 secs on the clock. I reckon Birdwood were down by about 9 at 1/2 time and nearly grabbed the chocolates.

That 93 GF was one of the HFL's best. That whole final series was too.

Anyway celebrating 25 years dominance over our Rooster friends here's IMO KFC's Team of the Past 1/4 of a Century. Note arguably their best year in a Double Blue Guernsey in brackets.

Fwds: R.James (07), S.Horvarth (86), A.Dekievet (89)
HF: K.Paues (99), M.Wildman (86), M.Scott (97)
C: B.Pearce (06), P.James (09), J.Levett (98)
HB: B.James (07), D.Patey-Johns (97), S.Carslake (09)
B: M.Bergman (93), A.Bettison (88), J.Scott (02)

Foll: R.Nicholson (09), D.Pearce (90), M.Westley (99)

Int: I.DeIaugo (91), D.Hughes (90), L.Hughes (05), A.Newman (93)

10 Mail Medals over that time between 6 blokes (S.Horvarth, D.Pearce, M.Scott, K.Paues, B.Pearce, P.James)

Tough backline to break into. Freddy Allen unlucky not to get a guernsey.

All jokes aside, that is one flamin good team and would be competitive against ANY HFL clubs 'Best Of' in the same period.
Only critiscism is not much pace there.

Only fellow I don't know there is I.DeIaugu. What can you tell me about him?

Birdwood won first quarter then kersbrook won second and third to be 7 goals up at three quarter time. Birdwood kicked 9 goals to 2 in the last to draw the game in a nail biter with Shawn 'cougar' Dawson kicking his 7th goal after the siren. Cracking day of footy with both senior games being decided by a point.

Is that Shaun Dawson the ex Div 1 TTG player up there at Birdwood? No doubt he isn't playing up there for a packet of Chips as that guy is a gun. Big loss for the Gullies if it's him.

that's the one.

just shows the massive gap from div 1 footy in town and country division. dawson is a good player but i dont think he was that good for the gullies. even played a few B grade games last year i think.

I remember blokes like Shane Ellen and Ben Marsh kicking goals at AFL level and struggled for a kick in country footy so your comments hold little credibility, footys a funny game

Bellman has made the best players list a couple of times this year but the game i saw Gum play he was destroyed in ruck. From what i have seen i think he would struggle to dominate in this comp because there are a few high quality ruckmen running around this year and he looks a little over weight.

Hes taken to the Gumeracha bakery pretty hard and he is struggling to get around the ground, or get off the ground for that matter, has featured in the best against the minnows

Would have to agree with The Barron here. Have watched finals footy from Hills Country and SAAFL Div 1 and it's no comparison.

i dont think anyone on here is claiming Hills Country is of the standard of SAAFL Div 1... but thanks for stating the bleeding obvious. Some of the top Hills Central teams would be competitive in Div 1 tho.

Sorry McGovern, think the surname is spelt DeAraugo. i.e. Ian 'Sticks' DeAraugo who coached the Brookers in Div 1 then returned to play in the 93 flag. Played League footy for Centrals and remember some footage of him and Johnny the Rat sitting in Central's goal square one day. If we had Sticks at the peak of his ability, would've replaced Nicholson as 1st Ruck.

Kick N Back I forgot about the Rock Brian Quill. Been very reliable for the Brookers for a while now. That was my point in the 'Spot the Local' debate with Birdwood. They do produce some young talent consistently, but unlike the Brookers they fail to edge out long senior careers at that club. If you played 200 at Kersbrook you're no where near the Top listed players, but if you reached that milestone at Birdwood, you might be the Games Record Holder!

Correct Cougar I think that you would find that in your team that all these players have played for a considerable time with big sticks probably being the least experienced of the lot and i think he played 3 seasons and the majority well over 100 games

As Hutchy would say Cougar "Bad Call"!!
You're not paying much respect to the likes of Trevor Mueller, Bazz Pfeiffer, Trev Gladigau, Terry Coad, Trev Schutz etc. who some of those have got 400+ games under their belt.
And I would take Bazz Pfeiffer before any of the guys you named every day of the week and twice on Sundy!!

Stuart and Chris Moerman both getting up around the 200 game mark i'd say.... though Chris is not adding many games these days!

But when Chris Moerms does add to his tally they are epic games. 2 years ago he put on an 11 goal display of footballing mastery that springs to mind... ;)
