I've been down there a few years now and it's well worth the entrance fees. We usually get there mid morning and spend the rest of the day there. The displays are fantastic and there's always someting new each year.

Not going this year though we have other stuff on...

The major problem they have with shows like these is paying their public liability insurance for the event, still the costs are on a par with the SANFL and the family ticket is not bad value - plus what you actually get for your money is pretty good too!

Would've liked to have spotted this one earlier - kids would have loved a bit of geeky action like this (I wouldn't have minded having a peek either...) 8-[

Thanks for posting it Sojourner, give us a reminder again next year!

I went along this morning with the two tin lids. Only paid for myself ($12), the lass at the ticket booth let the young 'uns in for nix. Very extensive show with lots of varied train setups. My kids were agape at the displays for a full hour before hunger set in, and that was cured with a couple of buckets of hot chips. Will have to remember this for next year. Good work Sojourner :D

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it! I went when it opened on Saturday morning and took my young daughter and we had a ball going over all the various displays. Very taken with the N Class trains - the size down from HO, the most popular scale. I want to set up a layout of my own and I think that going this way will enable me to do better with a smaller space. Will be a good challenge anyway!

I wish you had of posted that earlier mate, I seen the signs during the week and was keen to take the kids, I was a bit wary of the entrance fee though so I didn't find the motivation to go.
I've always been keen to have a go at setting some up after seeing a family's friend have about 10 different layouts as a kid.
