Good stuff by Geppys in a very competitive part of town with 3 or 4 clubs a couple of good droppys away.
Congrats on getting an u15's side going again we have'nt seen you guys around for the past couple of years (14's last year ect). With The Rams & Broadies fielding a side, & if Para Hills & Ingle Farm can hold it together the NEMJFA may well divide the 15's comp into 2 divisions as was hinted last year.

Edit - you did have a team in the 14's last year, my apologies.

I don't know whether school footy is collapsing or whether we have overestimated the impact of soccer but I know NEMJFA will have a record number of teams, nearly 190, playing in 2007.
In our club we have gone from 7 to 12 teams since 2005. If this year is any indication, and remember the season is still 2 or 4 weeks away depending on the agegroup, and footy has just commenced on free-to-air tv, we'll have 14 or 15 teams next year.
We'll still take more kids 5 to 16 for this season though.
Ingle Farm juniors are going strong too. TT Gully is HUGE, with over 20 teams in 2007.
I think Kilburn is struggling at junior level and I've heard Walkerville is struggling in some age groups too. Really need a new club in the Golden Grove-Greenwith-TT Gully area to cope with the demand.
One factor is the cost of club soccer. $500 subs are not uncommon.
No wonder some kids have quit the round ball game for the best footy code in the world. At the Rams you pay just $65, less for families.
One little mystery - we have had some kids from Smithfield and even Two Wells join this year. They drive past 5 CDJFL clubs to train and play for us. Hmmmm?

Kilburn were a no show at the managers meeting last week, & unsighted at the registration night Friday night so unfortunately you may be right re the Chicks. Shame because I know their Prez has tried everything over the past couple of years with little help.
Cudos to The Gullys for their efforts over the years, fielding two or more teams from 15's down, everyone gets a game. More than we can say for some clubs who turn kids away refusing to field multiple teams in fear that the drunks wont be able to drool over premiership flags on the wall at the expense of junior development. Makes you wonder why they struggle to field teams from 15's up.
Eastern Park by rights should be an emerging strong club in the near future with lots of kids going there from the CDJFL.

Centrals juniors Under 14's, (4 teams), Under 15's, (5 teams), and Under 16's, (4 teams), have joined NEMJFA for 2007. Gives NEMJFA two divisions of at least 6 teams each in each grade from U11's to 16's. Junior footy at a club level is booming in many areas. Sad to see Kilburn juniors fold, though. It's dissapointing that they are located in a low growth, ageing area, but then so are the 'Roys and Gaza and they look set for a big 2007. We've broken our record for the number of registered players at the Rams but, despite nearly 80 new kids, we still need a couple of 11 amd 13 year olds as both these teams have just 19 players. I'm stunned, and gratefull, for the Under 14's who've just walked in 'off the street'. They had a good trial match win over TTG as did the 13's.
