Portland - Still another big game in the scheme of things. If we want to hold onto the spot we have now we need to win the same games as early in the year. Its always a tough ask to go to PH for a triple header. Never take these guys lightly

Golden Grove I think GG will be too strong for Seaton on their home deck. Seems GG are getting back into ealrier form. Looking forward to Round 14. GG by 4-5 Goals

Pembroke - Will be to big an ask for Pooraka to get a win here. Will be close though. 2 goals+

Flinders Park - If they have the players back that they were missing? It will not be a great day for CBC. Even though its in the wet i cant see CBC getting within 10 goals unless they forfiet again.

Mitcham - With how Smosh have been travelling i think Mitcham will take the points here. They play their home ground well and as ive said with the form smosh are in i dont think they will be as big an ask for some sides as they have been. Mitcham by 4-5 goals

I'm going to pick your lot by 15goals Satchel only thing that might stop that is the weather

The Golden Grove Seaton game could be interesting Golden Grove should get the job done but if the oval is a mud pit which I recon it would be could make it a closer game.

Pembroke should get the job done

Flinders Park CBC they did forfeit last week maybe this might be the last game for the year

Mitcham and Smosh could go either way apparently both sides have a massive amount of outs with mitcham D grade having to forfeit last week I think Smosh would get the job done

the flinders game is all up in the air so ive heard cbc have no ground and are looking for a triple header at flinders which will probably have the c's playing a twighlight game i do beileve

CBCOC 2%
Flinders Park 30%
Golden Grove 20%
Mitcham 12%
Para Hills 10%
Pembroke OS 3%
Pooraka 2%
Portland 7%
Seaton Ramblers 5%
SMOSH West Lakes 10%

Just a side note. Its interesting too see what peoples thoughts were at the start of the season, who was going to play finals or be the premiership favourites. GG and PH are the ones that were tainted as better than what they are at the moment. I know GG are 5th at the moment but have a few at their heels just liek us. Mitcham in my oppinion should have a higher % but it is a poll iguess. Smosh at only 10% is a shock. Be interesting to see what the %'s would be now with 6 weeks to go?

The poll is probably more a reflection on the amount of posters/users a club has.

becuase wether I think GG are gonna win the flag or not, im gonna pick them just becuase i support them.

in the D3 thread GG were top 2 or 3 to make the GF, and they are sitting bottom.

Our C grade is streets better than where we were at the start of the year. With a lot of C graders from 2010 (premiers) either moving on or "retiring" to the D grade our C grade of 2011 has been a bit of a mixed bag. As you would know Satchel the C grade can be a bit hit & miss with players being promoted up to B's and vice versa unsettling sides. But seeing our C's turn their form around (running SMOSH to within a kick....maybe should of won the game??) is a huge turnaround from Rd 3 when we got a pants down spanking.

Big couple of games coming up with Seaton & Portland both at the Burra Dome.....all teams fighting for 4th/5th position. The way the ladder looks and assuming games go to form GG and Portland may meet again in an elimination final in 6 weeks time.

Exactly mate. I will admit ive had the luxury of keeping most of my guys from round 3 onwards (bar a few injuries etc). You guys have certainly turned around which is good to see. The jump up isnt good at the best of times. If we do swap positions with you guys later in the year do you think your club would host a home final and pay th $1000 to host it? Ive spoken to my club and it wasnt 100% positive but if it came to it id pay for it myself.

No wouldn't think our club would pay for a home final for the C grade. I played in C's last year and we played at neutral grounds for our finals games. Harper's Field is not the best ground to play on during winter anyways....we were pretty lucky to get Kilburn Oval and Thebby for our finals last year.

It's only $750 for a C Grade home final isn't it? Well, it was last year

Its been a little while since our C grade side played finals (3 years i think) with the fixture or dates for the fuinals the way they are now. What makes the decision if its a Sunday or the nnormal Saturday? I remember that it did take me back when we palyed on the Sunday against Fitzroy for the elimination final.

I could be wrong but I think for the last 3 years anyway the first and possibly second weeks of finals in the C grade comps were on a Sunday then back to Saturdays after that.

We played a first semi final at home last year against Flinders Park on a Sunday. Cost us $750. Was a small price to pay because the advantage we got from playing at home was probably the difference between winning and losing that game IMO

Thats exactly what i would liek to happen, IF we finish in the spot that allows it. An advantage like that would be priceless. Not to mention we could have a crowd to cheer us on. we dont get much week in week out so it would be good for the boys to have the support. Time will tell i guess

Generally the league programs c division finals on Sundays up to the prelim finals. This gives the ability to have neutral umpires in all finals including boundary and goal umpires. Clubs can buy all finals including preliminary finals provided they meet a list of requirements such as sponsorship, ground condition etc.
Cost varies from division to division and home clubs also pay the umpires. Its generally worth it in terms of income generation and homeground advantage.

we recieved a email at the club this week about the cost of c grade finals=$800
a little club like ours can not afford that cost
larger clubs can and i am not upset because of that difference
we would love to host a final if we made it but when at committee meeting this week i made the point that we would be stupid to put our club into debt for an advantage
we have a huge advantage at our ground because of the size but as i made the point is a win ina final more important than the long term future of the club
what upsets me is that we will pass to a nuteral ground who will beneift withjout laying any money out
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

SMOSH West Lakes 07.05 47 v 11.04 70 Mitcham
Golden Grove 08.11 59 v 06.08 44 Seaton Ramblers
Portland 27.19 181 v 00.01 1 Para Hills
CBCOC 00.06 6 v 20.08 128 Flinders Park
Pembroke OS 05.07 37 v 17.11 113 Pooraka

Massive win for Pooraka I would say that is Pembroke's season over. Satchel well done to your boys with a big win, tell me was it one of your boys that rushed the point? Didn't expect Mitcham to get up over SMOSH, that's a big win for them coming from there small ground to smosh big one. Golden Grove getting the job done over Seaton think that cement there spot in the 5. With pembroke and seaton both 2 games out really can not seeing them playing finals footy. Pembroke have to play the top 5 teams in the next 5 games, Seaton has to play the top 4 out of the next 5 games. These 2 need some miracles if there top play finals.
We're on this journey together, One Heart, One Club and they will Never Ever Tear Us Apart.

Couldnt have put it better mate. Good to see Pooraka get up athough i didnt tip them to win. I can see Pooraka taking it up to both Seaton and POS to finish above them? GG was a given in my book. Seaton are no longer as strong as they used to be in this grade. I thought FP would get a bigger win than they did. CBC didnt have the side they had 2 weeks ago whcih would take it right up to most sides here. FP are meant to have all their names back from holidays so not sure if the weather played a major part? Mitcham had a great result. As i said earlier SMOSH are not making the same in roads as they have been including their form last year. To be honest i was hoping for a different result so as we would be closer to Mitcham than what we are now. Awesome result though. Anyone from Mitcham give some thoughts on the game?
Our game was obviously the result i was looking for. I did expect to win but wanted to keep a lid on it but to come away with a 180 point margin is far better than expected. We needed to win and win good to get our % up. To have 7 wins and only have 49.4% and try to keep our spot for later on would be difficult. I think the early significant losses to both Smosh and FP has been the reasons. My lads really dug deep and kept the foot down until the third quarter. We kicked 16 goals 12 points until the last break and then to my delight we kicked 11-7 in the last to really finish off strong. 25 contributers which was great to see. It was really hard to pick bests when everyone had a great game. Good confidence booster leading into our trip away again this week to visit GG which in my oppinion is match of the round. That is a must win for us to keep ahead of GG and look at the remaining games to see if we can get a home final. If thats how it works out. Love this part of the season.
