Not many sides win over in the west. Wouldnt be getting too worried the finals are in melbourne. Still got some good players coming back and will still finish top 2 at end of minor round

I sort of expected to lose... The Eagles are doing really well to this point of the year...

Desperately need Selwood back, although he would not have been the difference between winning and losing...

We looked old and slow... At least it took thirteen or fourteen weeks into the year...

Cats have shown they are still capable of playing some really good footy and again the younger brigade in Christensen, Motlop and Vardy in particular showed glimpses of good things to come. We really do miss Selwood, and Scarlo was made pretty accountable last night. Interestingly last night, it tended to be the 'older wiser' heads that turned the ball over by hand or foot under intense pressure - Ling (who had a pretty good game), J. Hunt, Kelly... etc. Not sure what was with the quick kicks down the line, so many to Eagles all by themselves. West Coast are the real deal (in the minor rounds).

Geelong were certainly not disgraced last night - to lose by just 8 points in WA against an on-song West Coast is a fair effort.

They will definitely be in the mix come finals time and have a red hot chance to make the Grand Final. The same goes for West Coast.

Sorry REB i disagree. They beat Carlton in Melb & beat a good Geelong team in WA.
That to me makes them a real contender & i'm a Collingwood supporter.

if we looked old and slow, then what did carlton look like two weeks ago v west coast in melbourne??

and if we looked old and slow, what did we look like in the 2nd half, or more to the point what did west coast look like in the 2nd half??

nothing to get concerned about, i had a feeling we would lose this week. clearly trying a few different game plans.

Funny how my tongue in cheek comment gets two up and about but no one mentioned panters' effort. Flat track bullies who have beaten Hawthorn twice as well as Carlton and Collingwood? Yeah right.

If you are looking for Eagle praise you won't find it in this thread. If they get a home final against us, have a 12 break opposed to our six and we have Selwood out suspended I'll start worrying.

Two narrow losses when we are in the middle of a slump is hardly worth stressing about.

GO CATS.

lol...
im starting to think some geelong supporters are more precious than crows atm.......

geelong will be involved in the last 2 weeks of finals.
id be more than happy for geelong to make the GF.

too good a side to let 2 losses have everyone saying they are on the downward spiral.

So you can't read, REB !
I thought WCP's comment was ridiculous, but then came your reply which was even dopier.
I watched the game and saw it for what it was --- a tremendous battle between two magnificent sides who will both be finishing very high in 2011

Beware of a wounded cat.......

Until Geelong get eliminated in september or if it pans out, they get done in the big one, ill refuse to write them off. Good sides can have form slumps throughout the year, its what geelong do in late august early september that will count and they know that as well as anybody.

In saying that though, full credit to the eagles.....certainly surprised the competition! But do it when it counts lads, supporters who hate victorian clubs are counting on you!!!
