What number would you wear?

Postby Dissident » Thu Mar 22, 2007 11:45 am

Hi all,

Assuming you don't already, I was wondering what people would answer to the following:

1. What number of a current player in your club would you wear if you chose to wear one?
2. What number of a past player in your club would you wear if you chose to wear one?

And, why?

D

Number 9, Derek Kickett for mine - loved watching him play.

Current players... Not sure I could bring myself to do it. Maybe I have grown up a little.

I had Ian Hanna's number 1 on my back as a young kid and Andrew Payze's number 7 as a teenager. If I was to buy a guernsey and put a number on my back now, it would probably be either 57 or 51 with 19, 7 and 27 in close contention.

During my lengthy but useless sporting career I wore only 2 numbers - 8 (Bagshaw) & 24 (Davies). No other number was worthy !!

When I started playing footy at age 25 I wore 14 because it was what I wore in my only other year of footy (Under 8s), but was never really that fussed, tended to alternate between 18 and 28 a bit as they're my kids birthdays, was just happy to get something that fitted! :?
My best mate always wore 91! (He was a Dennis Rodman fan) :D
