Big game on Saturday to find out who the No.1 challenger in Div 7 is from the southern side of town. I think it will be SHOC.

Sorry, that was crass and I was drunk on the highs of a good win.

Was an epic day on Saturday. Great win by the Parky boys to come back after being 4 goals down at 3 qtr time.

I've given it a crack, have tried as best as I can to get blokes from every side in but I tell you what it's bloody hard...no doubt missed some blokes and have got some guys out of position but here you go

FF: Todd Mackereth (NP), Cameron Carroll (SHOC), Ivan Novosel (ML)
HF: Matt Robertson (NP), Luke McDonell (MP), Andrew Matthews (AV)
C: Jarrod Gordon (AV), Rob O’Gorman (ML), Justin Kurenda (SHOC)
HB: Derek Newchurch (NP), Shane Stanley (ML), David Floreani (SHOC)
FB: Troy Potuszynski (MP), Grant Williams (TTG), Nathan Bruce-Gordon (ML)

Foll: Scott Burgess (AV), Damien Victor (NP), Brenton Reidy (ML)

Bench: Glen Mount (TTG), Dion Gregory (FU), Michael Gollan (AV), Anthony May (MP)

Unlucky: Pete Uncle (TTG), Steven Marks (NP), Alex Beaton (Athel), Matthew Ralph (ML), Michael Quirke (SHOC), Willie Sansbury (NP)

Anybody I've missed?

what about polky from the mozzies, what sort of year has he had????

Polky has been great for us this season TT. Has missed a couple through injury, but has dominated a couple of matches (kicked 9 one week) and would be in out Top 10 for the B&F, but he along with Kennett, Ralph, Duncan and Smits I couldn't squeeze in (would like to have!). Rob O'Gorman and Brenton Reidy have been clearly our best this season while Stanley was on fire early in the season for us, Novosel has been good again this year off a flank and Bruce-Gordon has been rejuvenated as a small defender. This is the 3rd year I've picked a side and it's arguably the strongest I've done.

I may have to rethink not including old Ralphy boy especially after his 15.1  performance yesterday

Was a very bizarre day yesterday @ Mawson Lakes against Modbury (in both grades)

This has been mentioned on here before how Modbury's D's are better that their C's, it was proven again yesterday!
First of all I will take my hat off to Modbury's C grade as they recieve very little help or support from their club, get smashed most weeks, still play in good spirits and seem like good blokes (unlike the D grade)
I did not see one D grader stay around and help out in any way shape or form! The D graders played in a heated game and left immediately.

A few off the C graders were targeted from ML supporters with comments along the lines "don't worry mate you won't be dropped to the D grade" and many other comments along those lines! I heard on more than one occassion a Modbury player say I either play in this team or none at all! The Modbury D grade are after a cheap flag. Will they get it? Time will only tell :-?

everyone knows why the players that are playing in the Dgrade are doing so,and have been for all year
maybe the Modbury football club should have played their hand and swapped the coaches of the C grade and D grade
and then they would have ended up in the right division

we win and lose as one

Watched the Mawson lakes and Modbury game sat and I must take my hat off to the Modbury C grade.
To see you blokes try your heart with no support, no trainer, no runner and im not even sure if you had a coach there was awesome.
I think you may have been a couple of players short as well as im sure I saw the D grade coach running again for a couple of quarters.
You blokes may of got beat quite easy ( 36.26 to 1.2 ) but you never gave up and was having a laugh with each other all game.
Modbury D grade quite simply, you are a joke. To sandbag your way thru a season and not even care to hang around and support or help out these guys is a joke. I can not, for the life of me, know y your club would let this happen.
What is the problem with these guys playing C grade for your club? How can your D grade have a full team and bench and support staff yet your C grade has none of the above is also questionable.
Just a hint to the Chuck Liddell wannabe, you should not run around challenging Mawson lakes players to a cage fight because you never know what you might get.
I have never before seen a club focus so much on a Div 7R flag, but good luck to you blokes.

Agreed, very dissapointing and the lads in the C grade are fantastic. Unfortunatelly the D grade have seperated themselves from the club somewhat. The reasons for the players just wanting to play D grade has been discussed here before so i wont go over it again!

What I will say is:
A 'D' Grade flag is far from the clubs priority, never has and never will
The club pays a trainer to be at the games (he unfortunately doesnt rock up occasionally  ) anddont know if he was there Saturday
There was coach, Mark Shean has taken over while skittles has played higher

I can assure you this will not be happening this year and some may argue it shouldnt have happened this year, but circumstances (hard to explain on here and mean little if you arent around the club) have let the events unfold this season.

Cheers for the reply FootySmart, I actually think your C grade trainer played on Sat as they were that short.

All i can say is, if you are saying a D grade flag is far from the clubs priority, y would these D grade blokes not get picked to play C grade or can you tell the club where you want to play?

The C grade was a great bunch of blokes who seemed to be having fun even know there where having there pants pulled down.

Hey Anderson, what's this I read about Angle Vale appointing current Gumeracha coach David Thomson for next season? Surely the SAAFL won't let Thommo back in any capacity and hasn't DeJager done enough at your club to hold the position if he wants?

Unfortunately the precedent was set early in the season that these blokes, who were not going to play this season for personal reasons could not commit and just have a game on a saturday (good footballers the club didnt want to loose for seasons to come).

Injuries in the A and B grades (we have been ravaged this year) havent helped the situation at all.

I must stress again that club are not selecting these blokes in the D grade to win a Div 7 res flag.

The club will have in place from round 1 next year a 'play where you picked' policy (apart from the veteran card holders  ) to ensure this doesnt happen in future!

Highly doubtful LM, APFL is was above Angle Vales level, there would need to be alot of improvment or they could be another Roseworthy College.

Could be a big rivalry next year LM with Smithfield planning on being back in div 7 next season. Im sure there could be a few torn between the 2 clubs?
Would Thommo be hopeful of taking Bellman and co. out to Angle Vale next year?

Time will tell then hey QM, once they move in to their new headquarters they'll attract more people/ sponsors. There is some wealthy investors in Angle Vale, that's a major contributing factor to why their sporting complex is going to be so advanced.

Yes, it would be a huge rivalry between the two clubs, I guess a lot will hinge on who takes over the reigns at Smithfield.
As for the Thommo/ Bellman thing, I'll believe the Thommo rumour when it's confirmed, Bellman seems pretty happy at Gummy's, he is due for a move though ;)

Very interesting last round to the season...Top spot still up for grabs, Mitchell Park & Angle Vale fighting it out for the double chance and let's not forget Modbury & Flinders battling to avoid the spoon...great end to the minor round.

As an aside - what powers do clubs have to alter the timing of the quarters on gameday? We were quiet surprised to hear that SHOC were insisting on flat 27 minute quarters, which the umpires agreed to, despite our protests...is this allowed?

Interestingly the first quarter (when SHOC were kicking with the breeze) went for nearly 29 minutes, the 2nd (when MP had the breeze) went for spot on 27 minutes.

Let’s just say that it took a couple of tattooed heavies with a stopwatch standing quite near the timekeeper to ensure no more shenanigans occurred.

I sure hope you're not suggesting a lack of sportsmanship from the SHOC lads there Morell...
