Well Gimp if you couldn't tell I wasn't bagging Birdwood.

Brett James is a smart man who played under Malcolm Blight after all. He most likely couldn't have cared less if they'd been beaten by 30 goals.

obviously the result in the final is the only one that counts.
but if i was Brett James and my team got smashed by 20 goals 2 weeks before a final... i'd be seeing a few red flags.

Perhaps Brett needs a cash cow?

Pretty cocky you Birdwood blokes after the last couple of results against Echunga and Kersbrook, but wouldn't nothing less than a premiership in Div 2 be considered a failure? Even more so with the rumored spending you guys are doing.

How have we been cocky? We all understand very well that result in the long run means nothing and that Kersbrook will put in a much better performance last time. We lost to Echunga and nearly to Kersbrook, not to mention a loss to Gumeracha so we have no illusions that we're a sure thing at all... gonna be a very tight, competitive finals series.
I think the fact that we took out the club shield, have strong teams across the board, is more a reflection of our success as a club and less about these millions of dollars everyone keeps saying we are spending.

Read the last few pages and you'll find that we've hardly been cocky! We had a challenge ahead of us after we played poorly against Gum who played a cracker game. We came out against one of the other contenders and played probably the best footy we've played all season and beat Kersy by 20gl. And after watching Brett James walk off the field, he didn't look like a coach that didn't care that they just got a touch-up. I have no doubt Kersbrook will be better in the qual final but if we played like we did last week, I'm confident we can give any side a shake during the finals.
In regards to money - if you think Birdwood have a "cash cow", then you're living in a dreamland! The club has got itself in a good position through hard work over the last 5-10 years where we have been able to pay some great blokes to come and play for us and improve the club. There's no team in the HFL that doesn't pay players, but we've worked hard to get the qualty group that we've got and I can assure you it's not financed by some cash cow.

have gumeracha hit a new low in hills footy was at the kersbrook v sedan game yesterday where mish bingos kicked 19 phone calls were being made between the game and gumerachas ashby kicked 12 according to 4 of their officials and this was well after their game considering the kersy game went longer having more scoring shots, they obviously knew the stats from the phone calls and have adjusted the goals accordingly! PATHETIC! Wouldnt put it past them either.

Cant comment on that foxstar but we knew Kersy would be feeding Mish for the trophy in anycase. I think last we heard he had 11 at halftime and there wasnt a mad rush to get Mick to kick all the goals once we knew that. Id say its a pretty dangerous thing to flirt with your form a week out from the real stuff. Anyways congrats to both lads on kicking 100 goals for the year.

As for the rumour about our coaching situation, its utter rubbish. The season still has (hopefully) a few more weeks to run for us and a decision has not been made 1 way or another, nor has Thommo decided to leave and coach AV.

can a kangarilla supporter shed any light on the disgrace that is gumeracha? I suppose at the end of the day he'll never wear a premiership medal so it must mean a fair bit! Meadows to put an end to the rabble come sunday!

There is absolutly no way Mick Ashby kicked 12 against kangarilla. 5 or 6 maybe. Freddy Agius did most of the damage.

Dont think there would be any change to the ovals going on Sundays Weather - would have dried the ovals up nicely.
Gumeracha is the Saturday game is that correct and Sunday was at Kangarilla?
Is this confrimed today?

Just seen on the HFL website that both grounds have been confirmed for Saturday & Sunday. Good luck to all teams playing in Finals this weekend.
