Hanniford's ridiculous "sling tackle" report got thrown out prior to the Tribunal sitting as it should have. Thring found not guilty in his case of striking. In both cases they were deadset soft reports at best and both resulted in free kicks in front of goal for Port. That summed up what sort of day the 3 umpires had on Sunday - terrible!

The sling tackle was 70m out from goal, but was directly in front of goal...

There was no sling tackle, and I think 70m is stretching it a bit

Even the NA supporters around us thought it was a sling tackle. That doesn't mean it was a report in my book.

But it still took place in or around the Centre Square.

No one around me thought it was a sling tackle, was a bloody good tackle, there were 2 others during the game that should have had free's against them and didn't, 1 in particular was much worse.

The tackle was nearly on the Northern edge of the square (I thought it was just out of the square but I may be wrong)
