Misprint or Gum caught out ???

Would either of these guys kicked 100 without Cally or Sedan in the comp?? This whole comp is a joke!

If you really wanted to argue the point, Bingos averaged 6.25 against teams other than the two mentioned. A full 18 games at that rate would give you 112.5 goals. Maybe Hope Valley could join the comp so the top teams could have another easy win!

I'd be a little more concerned with an average winning margin of 165+ points in last rounds matches than whether your upper echelon teams could flog Hope Valley or not.
But hey, you guys seem happy enough with that.

I heard around the traps that "Mad Dog" has told Johnno to be ready for finals, but i think he's got cutting oranges in mind and not A grade. ;)

At the end of the day these players who kicked 100 goals dont get to pick who they play against, so congrats to them for reaching the tonne. Do people want these guys to sit out every time they play against an easy team . I do agree that there needs to be a review of the league before next season starts.

Perhaps a 6 goal limit and then they have to wear a fluorescent jacket over their guernsey and can't go in the forward half. ;)

This week! Let's get talking about it...

Sunday's game I think Gumeracha should be too strong, although if Meadows can start well and be a few up at quarter time Gum will drop their heads, especially in such a big game. But I think Gum by 6 or 7 goals

Very excited about playing finals footy again after a big break between drinks. How's Gum oval holding up? It was pretty soft when we played there so can't imagine it being in great shape...
Why are they not playing a final at Callington? I know there are issues but it's probably the best oval in the comp (top 3 maybe)

If Birdwood v Kersbrook is at Gum and its boggy Kersbrook will be too hard to beat
In those conditions. Kersbrook have too many in and under players for Birdwood.
This could mean a Gum v Birdwood final.
Could Birdwood go out in straight sets?

Our oval is a bit soft but holding up ok and should be fine for the weekend. Should be interesting to see how Kesrbrook respond to the belting they copped only 2 weeks ago. Theyll be a much better side but will they be 20 goals better ??

I think Callington had their turn last week-end. There was a junior carnival with more spectators than a Country Grand Final.
S/C and Milang both too far??

A bit soft is a massive understatement. You better stay off there Shortman or we may actually lose you! 5 goal may be a winning score Saturday.

Yeah mate I did have a bit of trouble walking home after the game Saturday !! Unfortunately after all this rain we've had this week it hasn't helped the oval recover as much as we had hoped, and i was kinda shocked the league didn't even want to inspect it. Hopefully it holds up enough to make for a good game though, the tough conditions will no doubt help the brookers.

Not saying heavy conditions won't suit the Brookers more, but why do people think that? We seemed to play pretty well in the heavy conditions against Kangarilla and Echunga. And I would've thought that Kersbrook's oval is now a better surface than Birdwood's so perhaps we should be more used to it??
Time will tell i suppose!

Have to agree there with you, Birdwood played the wet well against us in our our loss to them. I think it might be the team that is able to brake the mold of slow grinding footy in the wet and get the ball in space with their runners that will get the goods here. That being said should birdwood not be able to free there run and ball use kers would be my pick. I gping Birdwood by 4 goal. As you said we shall see!

Birdwood v Kersbrook
Kersbrook have great finals experience over the last few years and more. Birdwood haven’t played finals footy for a few years and will have to lift an extra step. Kersbrook by 5 goals.
P James, B James & M Westley to be standouts it these conditions and under finals pressure.
Who will stop Bingos?

For me its about the more experienced finals hardened bodies of kersbrook handling the conditions and lift in intensity more so than the younger birdwood side. Whether that's enough to get them across the line who knows but its going to be to their advantage.
