Yes we got up a div last year but we had a fair chunk of guys leave, whether that be because they didn't like him or they liked the lure of $$$ from other clubs I don't really know. True, our recruiting this year was poor. 3 guys from TTG, 1 an ex-GG player anyway and 2 B graders came over and barely made an impact which was disappointing. 6, 12 and 14 games between them over the year and I would be close to say not 1 top 5 in the weekly awards between them so disappointing. 3 better recruits were lost early, one requiring a knee reco in pre-season and 2 not being cleared from TTG after training for 2 or 3 months so that was disappointing. So no, the Gullies people didn't follow him as we may have hoped.
I think the main downfall was the difference between coaching a Div 1 side to a lower div side. Div 3 and 4 teams still require a degree of coaching/mentoring/teaching where as a div 1 side probably doesn't require as much learning and Weavs struggled with this. Yes he got away with it in the first year when we sneaked out of div 4 via luck but it showed more this year I think especially when the pressure was on. His communication severely let him down in my opinion and this led to a fair chunck of the players losing faith in him. But the finger can't be pointed squarely at him because he was badly let down by a lot of guys this year and that was disappointing too.
But we have some great young kids coming thru now, we have Div 4 in 2012, time to rebuild and time to make amends for this year and be positive in it all.
I wouldnt be too hard on the club...from the side we played in the first half of the season to the side later in year it was a massive improvement. Always hard to swallow being relegated but I would say it won't be long until you are back in div3. There was definately some handy young blokes coming through so it's probably about getting the consistency right week in week out!
Consistency was a huge problem all year both in personnel and form. Yes we did improve in the back half of the season and get close to a few teams but getting close doesn't equal points unfortunately. We live and learn. Still only a young club and these things will hopefully build some character and resolve.
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

I can answer that , yes a couple of liquor licensing gentleman entered the premises Sat night for a quick nosey and a check to see if their was a person present with the proper accreditation. No problems at all, however it did spook the bar staff into closing the shutters a little early, nothing new at Districts though[/quote]
I heard different.
Along with a western club in Div5.

Sides have worked out their style, are shutting down their key players, just can't see them getting up this weekend.
Disappointing end to a season that promised so much.
You must be getting real bored PG
Staying up late looking after the little one and being under the thumb is really getting to you!
I work with a Mitcham official and still think's the mid season ski trip has had caused problem with there form.

Kidding yourself if you're writing off Mitcham.
