Was a fair way off the ball and he just whacked a bloke after getting a little niggle. Probably 2 at the most because it wasnt a massive hit.

He tried to lead for the ball when he got scragged tried to break free by chopping his oppenents arms. His oppenent then gave him one to side of the head to which he returned fire. Like Shortman said wasnt a massive hit. If the umps saw the first punch probably a couple of yellow cards would of been fine. 1 for 1 sort of thing. The fight followed on from there.

Pretty much how I saw it. From the point the 2 reds came out, given the importance of the players sent off and the 1 week automatic supension, it made beating Kersy this week impossible for whichever side won IMO.

Nah not sure. Now that the season is over I guess the club will assess things. Last I heard the club was going to advertise and Thommo is free to apply if he chooses to do so. I think this year was a case of 1 step forward 2 steps back. We had good solid seniors with both sides making the finals for the first time in a while and some good performances from some of our younger guys in their 1st and 2nd years up, coupled with better recruiting of good blokes aswell as footballers. But the downside was ofcourse losing yesterday and finishing 1 week earlier than last year.

Last week looks like an upset in the Sunday Game....
What are the thoughts for this weekend? Are the games locked in eg. Saturday at Meadows & Sunday at Echunga - Would have thought with the weather this week both ovals will be in great shape for the weekends clashes.

Saturday - 2nd Semi Final
Echunga Vs Birdwood - (most likley at Meadows) Im going to go with Birdwood in this one, basing this just on the last time they played, Birdwood by 3 goals.

Sunday - 1st Smi Final
Kersbrook Vs Meadows - (Most likley at Echunga) You would think Kersbrook will bounce back from Saturdays loss and win by around 7 goals + may come down to both forwards Bingos Vs Dawe if Meadows start like they did on Sunday.

If that happens Meadows will win... It won't though. Kersbrook should win by 6 or 7 I'd imagine.

Interesting, means you can smack someone in the head a fair way off the ball and get away with it. What it does tell you though is some umps are far too quick to dish out a red card perhaps.

Who was the umpire? I know Paul Hienrich is notorious for giving red cards but fears facing the tribunal and will usually pull out. Few weeks back at Balhannah i'm told he red carded Luke Nitschke for K.O'ing someone off the ball and it was pretty nasty. Hienrich red carded him then crumbled before the tribunal!

Bit harsh on the umps Wade pleaded guilty and got a 1 week suspended sentence, so isn't that a tribunal decision not an umpires.
Same thing for Nitschke.

Isnt it an automatic 2 week suspension for a Red card? How can you plead guilty and not receive the standard penalty?

Heard he was missing some of his ear due to being stomped on, so perhaps they ruled that he had some cause.

Only heard that though, didn't see it.

Great captains game by chad dawe leading from the front with a decent 15 and what appeared 0 behinds, gumeracha's youngsters threw everything they had a great game by sam hanna and ben jardine gumeracha just couldnt get there head around it today influential players such as q. graham and j. creek normal stand outs were held very well game could of gone either way the whole day but to have a player kick 15 in a final is huge again great game by chad and his boys and best of luck to them next week but kersbrook should roll them easily

i to was at the game and thought it was an entertaining game chad dawe at full forward was the differance simple as that he was very good use's his big frame very well.

NOT having a go at anyone here but its interesting to see and read how differant people watch the game. Where NSP has stated that J.CREEK was well held yet i thought he would've been best for gums with #5 second HANNA? probably Q.GRAHAM 3rd although we ccounted quniton and ashbys stats quino had 29 asbhy had 14 (2 at half time  ) ashby did have a couple of very important touches in the third term tho it must be said.

I also thought #2 PROWSE? was pretty good and #7 white? across half forward gave targets liked #16 down back older bloke but went ok.

Also wasnt ben jardine number #45? is that who you said had a great game? he turned the ball over at least 8 to 10 times

Wouldn't you put Q.Graham on a bloke before he kicks 15. Was a very good backman at Centrals.
