Isn't it great that the Bays can have an absolute stinker of a season and still be 4th?

come on dedj, what more do you expect from this person. careful he will demand a tutorial and full explanation from you should you make any statement in regards to anything you saw or read, and then accuse you of personal abuse and then if you respond it just keeps going ad nauseum - a bit like a dog chasing its tail

No explanation required here Stampy . I would only ask for an explanation if someone shot their mouth off about witnessing incidents but unable to say what they saw. You seem to struggle at times with responses . ;)

Mickan didnt give kids a chance, until this year, too late.

Have heard this criticism thrown up a few times, their reserves side was only mid table last year so obviously not all blowing away the comp there. Which kids were good enough to break into a high performing minor round side prior to this year? Are there some examples of those that have gone to other clubs and been good league players this year? Are there any that have got a belated opportunity this year and proven to be quality players or matchwinners for the bays? Or is this a bit of an unfounded myth?

When was the last time a club had the emotional roller-coaster ride that Glenelg has had this season?
Despite a number of arguably unexpected thumpings, a sacked coach, a new untried coach,
all the accompanying in fighting, finger pointing, on field dramas, accusations and near suicides of poor
pseudo, dedja & their mates ;),
there they are …..

1) Fourth on the league ladder.
2) First on the reserves ladder, so plenty of replacements.
3) Equal first on the U18’s ladder, so more on the way up.
4) Second on the Stanley H. Lewis.
5) Only 2 reasonably easy games left. AND
6) Potentially poised in a position for finals that 3 or 4 other clubs would kill for.

What a bloody amazing year the Tigers are having. Has a year like this happened to another club?
I wonder ….
“What are the expectations at the Bay ?”
&
“Are the supporters too emotionally drained by all that’s happened to enjoy the final series ?”
:-??
I’m not having a dig Tiges, quite the opposite in fact. Most clubs would be battling to avoid a
‘wooden spoon’ with the turmoil you’ve endured, but potentially, you’re in great shape.

2011 is a strange year and it sure ain’t over yet.

I think a lot of people are making assumputions about things that they know nothing about.

Unless you are on the inside you can only guess at what is going on.

Until Gary Metcalf took over as President the club was in a deep rut and going nowhere. An ageing board with little or no vision which is no disrespect to the people concerned.

The change that has happened in the last 5 years in enormous but along the way one does have to make adjustments if things are not working. One person always has to lead the way and whether you agree or disagree with their decisions one must support them as it was a Board decision. Boards do not make these choices lighty they are made after careful thought and deliberation.

The proof is in the pudding as they say come September. If they move forward in the finals the choice will be the right one if not then they will have to answer to the members at the AGM to their reasons.

Until that time as members we need to support the current coach and Board.

To other posters who are only prepared to sink the boots in, one should always look in ones own backyard first.

Yes I am in the know of the workings and short failings of several SANFL clubs and could throw some very sticky stinky mud about but it will not achieve anything.

At least 4 other clubs would be jealous of our current position on the ladder in all 3 grades considering the year from hell that we have had.

To other Glenelg posters get on board the Tiggy Train as we roll on to September action and look at the positives that Gary Metcalf and the Board have achieved in thier tenure so far. :supz: :supz: :supz:
