well it is amazing when you chase, tackle, harass, take risks & take the game on, plus also to kick straight what happens, the lewie hender doing the 'old school oval trick' handball to himself around the boundary going past his opponent then picking up the ball & kicking a goal oozed confidence & class, sometimes he tried to do too much as he almost got caught a couple of times but at least he was trying to do something which didn't happen last night, quick mention of kane cornes in the warm up he was talking to matt snook wth words of encouragement & advice & took him under his wing i thought that was first class, i thought our overall foot speed was the main difference between the teams, yes west kick ordinary & had their chances & even in the third term i thought they were opening up gaps as they went forward but glenelg regrouped at lemon time & despite west kicking the first goal of the last we were doing enough to win.....

glenelg, well it was better than last week but there is still a lot of improvement needed

west, i just wonder how many of those 'big name' players that returned to the team were actually fit, some seemed to have needed the run in my book & i don't understand how scott bricknell is in & out of the team as everytime i see him play he plays well mopping up across half back
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Andy Collins continues to blame the umpires.....from Adelaide now
http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl/what-they-said/story-e6frekfc-1226123412453

``I'm not sure why the umpires are so twitchy when we play Glenelg but 51 free kicks... it only ever happens when we play Glenelg. It's a 31 to 20 free kick count. It's a lot isn't it. And a lot of undisciplined acts from us but definitely a lot of staging from them.''

Andy Collins and Luke Norman both talk some crap, thats for sure...bloody victorians ;)

You got your 1st 3 goals from crap decisions and this set the tone for the night. The reason West get accused about being undisciplined is they are always on the receiving end of the umps. If I'm frustrated I can't imagine how they feel. Chris Schmidt was targeted by the umps a lot. In saying that, West's midfield is deplorable and has been for years.

Beaten by the team that put in arguably the worst performance of the season last week and West had just about their strongest line up for the season, and were playing for 5th spot ... and the Bays made a heap of changes with a bunch of kids coming in ... and it's the umpires' fault West faltered on the night?

The best team on the night won ... if it makes you feel better thinking otherwise then it might explain why your club hasn't seemed to have progressed this year as some had expected.

IMHO, West is easily the most ill-disciplined team in the competition

I do not see where Collins is blaming the umpires - in responding to a direct question about the free kick count he stated the obvious that there was a large difference in free kicks (that's true) but then also identified lack of discipline by Westies players and staging --- a straight answer to a straight question.

West lost by two goals through poor kicking at set shots for goals that should have been nothing more than gimmies - nothing more and nothing less.

Enjoy your win :)

Andy Collins has to be easily the biggest whinger and poorest loser in the SANFL coaching ranks. Fair enough he has a crack about his own teams discipline but then claims Glenelg "staging" for frees???

Stick to making claims about your own team instead of questioning the opposition with "sour" and unfair statements! His crack earlier in the season about North's physical tactics (and after West won) and claims about Alleway were laughable and insulting and another classic example of his mindset.

Guess what Andy, you have no game plan or to be fair 1 game plan - the mega flood. Your as bitter and poor as some of your supporters, your drab colours and you have well and truly used up every excuse now! Back to Vic for you!
