Has Gunston already been told he's not to play for Central?

yep, along with Smith, K Cornes and Tahlia for their respective Sanfl clubs

Pity Smith won't be available. Is this because these guys are going for end of season surgery? Where did you hear this news?

Has this ever been done before? The Bulldogs just seem to continue playing smart football off the field.

It is an absolute joke that this can be allowed to happen. Not that Centrals really need him anyway.
What happened to the June 30th clearance deadline?

Whats a joke about it, he has been on Centrals books all year, obviously hasnt earnt a cent towards the salary cap because he would be on a basic reserves contract.

All within the rules or else it wouldnt be allowed to happen.

Didnt think so many people would be stressed out about a bloke over 30 who is playing country football this year coming into the Central reserves side.

The Eagles will now go ahead and qualify Robert Shirley in the last two games of Reserves football ! Added to the one game prior to Easter when he was injured warming up before the game , this will now meet his minimum to play Finals this year ! Its on the website eaglerock.com.au  FFS

Bahahaha... How many times does he need? It's not like they haven't seen each other on a footy field since the reindeer was left looking broken on the ground.

I just hope he's a Schell of the player he once was.

But seriously, if he's on the books I see no problem with him playing and qualifying this way. Might piss off the player who's position he takes, that's all.

The player whose spot he takes would be Alan Obst. The kids in the reserves have had all year to prove themselves and obviously haven't gotten to the standard required.

Rudolph probably should worry more about trying to win a final than squaring up for something that happened years ago. Hey, maybe Kirkby can get some revenge for that brilliant 2 kick GF effort too!

Yes, Royce Hart played a final for Glenelg without even having played a single game for them through the season, I do believe!
He apparently needed directions to Glenelg Oval for training during the finals ;)
