West must have been good up there on Sat- any feedback?
Lions were run over again for South to secure 4th and a deflated Sollies were held at length all day by Port on Sunday.

What are the qualification rules for b grade?

my understanding is if you play 3 games of b grade you qualify, however if you play a grade the week before the finals and your a grade doesn't make the finals then you cannot play b grade finals. On an unrelated matter, I saw a young lions player in the under 18s clearly kick a south player lying on the ground. I can't recall ever seeing anything like this from a player that age, and he did get reported and hopefully got a game or two. Granted it was pretty light contact, but it was a shocking look.

i dont think they will although they have picked up some so called A graders as they dont want to play in the top grade. Id still like to have some money on the pt Augusta sides (centrals).

Having a look at last week's Lions A grade side, about 4 or 5 of them are qualified for B grade finals. However as previously stated, if they were to play in the finals they wouldn't be able to play A grade this week.

There is a good chance that this week's Lions B grade team could be stronger then the A's.

lions out to win a B grade flag wow thats great that will do the club a lot of good.. cant wait to see how there A grade goes next year i am tipping they will be the biggest basket case in sgl especially if they give brian butchy smith the job............look out i hear there is plenty waiting for the seasons end so they can get out of there.

Last game of the season Straight Talker, I am sure they didn't set out to win the Bgrade at the start of the year. You can't say any other team wouldn't do the same in the situation.

Name some names of who is leaving? Winning a Bgrade flag is better than nothing, will be the clubs first senior flag I believe.

from what i have heard the pine boys, especially Dan have wanted to leave for a while, Takka Horsnell to leave and possibly brad ley who was looking at leaving to Broughton for this season.

And no one gives the Ports B grade a chance in the B's? they have been ultra competitive all year, with more players to come back down from the a's and the sykes boys looking ominous up forward 90+ goals between them now.

Any thoughts?

as much as I would hate to say it I think the most impressive side I have played against in the b grade would be centrals, they have a lot of depth and even though they are lucky to even make the four they would be my tip.

what do all you SGL blokes think of the push to get footy back to the grass roots. Ports home games at Wandearah Road, Sollies at Globe Oval same in Port Augusta etc?

Well if that happens it would be a shame for Lions after developing them all for the last few years.... no idea about who you are on about with the person that put on 20 stone...

Footy at Port oval would be good, good oval since they re-planted it a few years ago, a lot better than Memorial which cops a hammering from the baseball and junior footy. Prices at the Port rooms are pretty good really, if you become a community club member you can use their cricket nets..........
