Couldn't make it to the count last night, instead I was visiting my Pastor in Birdwood.
Anyway, did Mick "Mad Dog" Taylor take home another Golden Whistle?

Not sure if he did Duke, however he takes home the award for best trash talk of the year. In our game on the weekend when a kers player simply questioned a fifty given he turned to say "Its a B grade game but you've got A grade umpires, you've got to step it up". Interesting view on the game of footy and its umpires involvment in the game

Gimp, I was very, very wrong! Thought they were building up nicely towards end of season but they went out with barely a whimper.

Should be a great game on the weekend between Echunga and Meadows.

The same bloke who sent 2 guys off with straight red cards in an Elimination Final (rightly so) only for them to get off with 1 and 0 weeks because "I didnt really see the incidents". Gee if you didnt see them, dont give out red cards, or if you really have to, give them yellows. The guy is a giant ego on the field. SJ might be too but atleast he was dishing out constructive comments, in the games we had him this year I thought he was great.

Birdwood beat Echunga in the B's to advance through to the Grand Final.
Echunga destroyed Meadows in the A's... made them look very average indeed.
Looks like next week will be a bit wet... hopefully Kerbrook oval will hold up well.

Lets care of business Roosters!!
both A's & B's.

as good as it is too see Kersbrook go out in straight sets... it'l be even better to bring home the silverware!

any tips?

any news on whether birdwood will seek to return to central division next year ?

if yes, will need to do a bit of heavy recruiting or may just go straight back down.

interesting decision for the roosters to make given the success across most grades in 2011.

Read in a SFL thread that Gavin Kuhl has an interview with his old club Reynella regarding a coaching position. Can anyone confirm that he will not be coaching Kangarilla next year?

Glad to hear that. I vividly recall the early days of the 'new' oval and all it's perils. I remember a mate being stretchered off over a bridge made of cardboard from the canteen because a creek-like waterway ran around the ground. Meanwhile, the junior colts were catching taddys in it.
Older, wiser and been there. But still love that grassroots country footy.

Under the guidance of Mad Dog and his new shiny golden whistle things are going well.
Rumour coming from HFL Headquarters, is the The Big O has offered MDog another 3 year extension to lead the boys in yellow.

Hahaha the MAD DOGGGGG!!!! what a legend, although I hear a lot of people aren't happy with him, don't see why. He's a legend in my eyes, greatest umpire we've had, although there is a couple of good young blokes... Herman, Mclean are good.

Whos the best umpire you guys have had people??

I last played in Hills Country in about 2003, but Dale Speck was always very good when we had him. Trevor Edwards also set a pretty high standard, both as an umpire and a gentleman.
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...
