Which team had the most disappointing season?

Postby SANFLnut » Sun Sep 11, 2011 7:13 pm

Toss up for me between West, Sturt and Bays.

Would give it West as the difference between making finals and not is the biggest difference of all.

West Adelaide for me

Started all guns blazing then fell away without a whimper
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

West for me, started with a bang and looked serious chance to finish top 3 but barely gave a yelp after the first half a dozen games.

Depends from where you make your judgement . If you make it from after 6 or 7 rounds then maybe West . I never expected Sturt to do anything considering the player loss so probably Glenelg after once again sacking a coach mid season at this point.

It's not finished for 5 clubs yet, finals often make or break a clubs seasons or individuals reputations, will re-visit this when it's all done and dusted.

Agree totally. What if someone in the top 3 go out in straight sets ? 1 thing is for certain South have done well this season.

West, then Sturt.

Only cos I expected a real challenger in West. Sturt, well I didn't expect much and therefore couldn't be too disappointed.

North for me would be the most disappointed/ing, alot of what couldve been had they won a couple of close ones
There was some reasons why west fell away, hit hard hard with injuries in the middle of the year

North is an interesting one. Many say they've improved this year but they've actually dropped down the ladder from last year

I was just thinking, before I read your post:

If Centrals bow out of the finals in straight sets, then they probably take the award.

South won 8 and a half games this year which means they lost more than they won, and had some big losing margins. I'd say if they win this week then you can say they have done well, if they lose then I think its been a fairly ordinary year.

ca, South compared to, say, Centrals? Ordinary without doubt.

South compared to any South side in the last decade? We've done well.

It's nothing to stain our jocks over, but it's definitely a bloody improvement that we should be happy with...

Yeah, I'm not sure if i'm reading it wrong, but to suggest South losing an elim final as an ordinary year is....I honestly don't have the words. We were well in front of last year before we fell into fifth

Fair call, but mostly a 40% winning record wouldn't get you into finals.Your right I guess, its an improvement which is a good thing but I wouldn't describe it as a very good year. Anyway it doesn't matter, good luck this week.
