Norwood triumph but the Catering was a disgrace

Postby sturtpeter » Sat Mar 31, 2007 4:47 am

Norwood scored a well deserved six goal victory over an under-manned Double Blue outfit at Pickard sorry Coopers last night.

There was no BBQ which was a blessing as good Catholic people don't eat meat on Fridays during Lent.

Seriously, the NFC should take a long hard look at their facilities for future trial games played under the worst lighting in the Country.

Sturt were without Feast, Nelson, Sheedy, Madness, Crane etc.

Interesting to see the "Weed", Brodie and Westies' new CEO watching from the Hill.

Learnt absolutely nothing because we are too smart at Unley to give our opposition a glimmer of hope of success in future matches :) :) :)

Its weird there was no BBQ as they had it running at their previous trial there and was up and running at the North v Port trial.
Surely it wouldn't have been that hard to walk to the chicken shop or Subways?
I don't have a big issue with the lights at Norwood, I prefer the lighting at Norwood to Elizabeth.
I eat lots of carrots though. ;)

im sure norwood would prefer that spectators use their business instead of goin out of the ground for food....god knows norwood need it

how hard is it to put on a BBQ when they have done it before, esp for their own fans? :?

On a positive side with the ground, atleast there was no fee to get in. In previous years you would pay to watch trial matches there.

The reason why we played norwood last night and not today is because norwood play next thursday and it wouldnt have given them enough days to recover.
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

Sorry guys but a legend Sturt Volunteer and all round beautiful lady, "Nan", along with a devoted group of passionate Sturt people ran a most successful BBQ at the South trial game at Thebarton last week.

Didn't attend the match but have heard that the result was a handsome profit for our Club despite a small number of spectators at the ground.

Initiative, Norwood, please :P :P

Well at least I can be assured of getting a BBQ feed at Sturt games in trials.

Other clubs need to lift thier games.
Organise BBQs organise someone to cook it.
The supporters make the effort to get to the ground
so the clubs should provide decent feeds as well.

And well done to NAN as well.

Amazing how many people slag clubs (including their own at times) over such trivial things as having a BBQ open at a trial (yes TRIAL match FFS)!!

I wonder how many of these people actually put the time in themselves to run stalls, events, etc on a regular basis ... All clubs have wonderful volunteers who are so generous with their time, but they don't grow on tree's guys!

Agreed, and as I mentioned before its not as though the Parade is short of eateries all within 5 minutes walk.
Im assuming it was a logistical issue when they did have it open for the North v Port trial.
